As soon as Braybrook announced the recruitment of Shaun Buttegeig-Clark I said it was a horrible move. Bloke is motivated by money and all about himself. You don’t want those types at your club.
They were all C/D grade premierships. Their first team practically against Hoppers/Werribee/Altona/Williamstown B, C or D teams.
A few of their players went through and had all right careers until injury took over.
A lot changes in a year. Klicker now living in Melton and gets to play with Stevens again. Clears room for points. Kennedy went for more senior opportunities. Don’t think there will too many more departures.
Anyone heard anything about any differences for the season next year with Covid around? I’ve heard some murmurings about a late start to the season around May/June.
Tarneit are cooked now. Back to being easy beats along with North Sunshine and Laverton.
Three horse race now between Albanvale, Braybrook and Wyndham. Wyndham have youth on their side and look the most likely to hold a place in div 2.
I wouldn’t say I’m mates with them, but I know them. Shaun is money hungry. Not commanding the same amount as he was pre broken arm though but still chasing coin and getting it due to his past. Taylor is a flog of the highest order. Better off taking more Rockbank players as their asking price...
Depending on how long this period of lockdown is, might be hard for clubs to get sponsors to pay up this year and potentially next year. Will be interesting to see how this affects clubs.
Tarneit hoping the season doesn’t go ahead. Really struggling money wise and have gone around to the big earners at the club asking for them to take a pay cut. Didn’t go down well.
Deer Park would rather merge than fold. League would push for it if the situation comes to it. Would be a Div 3 club with all of Deer Park taking off. East Keilor helped kill the club.
5 or 6 years ago? Try 7+ and when they were in div 2. Struggled in div 1 and hasn’t been the same since his arm snapped. Braybrook are better off avoiding his type.
Braybrook definitely have a bit of coin behind them if he’s joined. He’s one who plays for money. Also hasn’t been good since he left Caroline Springs and broke his arm. Still living off reputation from years ago. Horrible signing.
In the EDFL, Keilor had 2 thirds sides and down the road Keilor Park could only get a senior side up with no reserves. I understand mates wanting to play together but there must be a way to entice players to spread out.
