    Maybe but I think people also overlook how much harder the last 15 years have been for batters than they were during the 90's and 2000's

    That was true once, but hasn't been the case for half a decade. Test average down to 47 and has average 31 in test cricket over the last 5 years. Quite clearly isnt up to test standard anymore.
