I know personally that Gary & Benny both worked tirelessly at the LFNC. The football dept is the ONLY part of the club struggling atm. Gary worked immensely to improve the playing group & was starting to see things turn around. The club is still in a good financial position due to the work Ben...
Was unlucky. Not much in it. Player continued to play. Looked worse on camera as it was so far from the incident & from behind. No report on the day & no free kick given.
Was a lot closer than the score suggests. Lalor had more scoring shots & also put a few out on full. N Smith Potter & Rexhepi kicked 3-11 between them so inacuracy cost but is part of the game. Mernda were very good but not dominant. Both teams took turns in controlling the game, but Mernda ran...
Its sad they have gone for the easy option here & no reason they couldn't have told us earlier if this is the way its been heading. Asking (or demanding) fee's is just greedy & pathetic!
All rumors. Players wanting out & being denied, committed players being shuffled back for higher profile players, coach, Jacana yada yada yada. I'm not in the club so its not concrete evidence, but I get around a bit & what I've heard. Happy to hear they are wrong, but just an opinion.
Kilmore-team to beat
Laurimar-will win their share but dont think they are as good as Kilmore
Lalor-have recruited well & will surprise many
Mernda-needs to gel to make it work, off field dramas could hurt
Old Eltham-will push teams
Heidelberg West-not thinking they recruited their needs...
Was talking to cutler after the game who said they had 7 out. Including the saccuzo bros & their main ruckman. Gary Johns from Epping said they were short too. Seems like both clubs were just testing their recruits. Justin Bently looked pretty good for someone who only played 2 reserves games...
The game was very competative until 3rd qtr. Epping won 1st qtr Lalor the 2nd. Looked like Lalor benched most of senoir team at half time & played the game out with mostly reserves. Epping won the 2nd half by minimum 8 goals.
Salary cap reduction for not paying fee's & points reduction for going over salary cap seems fair. Points can be added or deducted at any time of the year.
Somtimes I wonder why I even look at this page. Wasn't that long ago that Mernda was getting bagged for paying overs for older players, & being shortsighted & not planning for next year, & upsetting their current juniors, and now Lalor is "laughable" for building juniors & planning for the...
If coulsen wants to see how much $$$ is available by all means go ahead. How many years has he got left? If a pay packet that made it worth while to go then good on him. Obviously he couldn't get what he needed to leave his mates, & now he stays. Not an uncommon story.
Why would they pay players that only won 2 games more money???
BTW Justin Bentley looks ok if you go by the facebook post, 6 ft, 100 kegs, has played at Northern Knights, Northcote Park, North Heidelberg & Northern Bullants, would be a good free player. Maybe a bit of a mercenary, but looks ok...
How is 1 less team & 2 extra games going to work? Does this mean teams will play 2 teams 3 times? How will they figure who plays who the extra time? Or do they plan on bringing another team in? Smells to me like the complaints dept at NFNL will have a lot of emails coming their way.
Div 3 is difficult at the best of times. From what I can see they have done well just to stay alive after a mass walk out 3-4 yrs ago. & the last 2 yrs even if unsuccessful on the field, the club has taken huge steps off it. Recruiting div 1 players would've seemed like a good plan at the time &...
I think its just keeping the core group together & introducing new players to their new mates. The club is probably just keeping things as posative as they can. Has been a hard road over the last couple years at the bloods, hardly anything worth setting the rumour mill on fire. Bit of a positive...
