There's an obvious athletic profile comparison that everyone seems reluctant to make: Tim English. I don't know what he's been like recently, but he had a purple patch a while ago where commentators were saying he was the best ruck in the game.
I was thinking less drooling, less shedding. Still have to watch for hip dysplasia. If he was built like a Newfy, DuckYeah wouldn't be complaining. They are heckin strongly constructed under all that fur.
The captain is picked in the off season. Jy always presents in great nick and trains the house down (confirmed by FOS, I think, in an interview). That's important but doesn't necessarily translate to being the best leader within games.
Flynn Perez was the ratio champ. Posters would gush about photos of him every pre-season. Then you see him next other players. Not that he was small, just normal.
I agree with you on this one. Taggers need enough size, enough pace and a huge tank. That's not Will and not what we should be aiming for him to be. He needs to develop his fitness enough so he can get to contests, be strong over the ball and use his smarts and disposal. Yes, he can be the...
I suspect you have more background on this than I do, but that could just be running on sloping ground along the boundary. It may also just be momentary. I read, a while back, an article that mentioned that Olympic 10km runners had different strike patterns and that some changed within longer...
It is pretty tiresome and I hope that Will makes it, but I agree that comparing him to LDU is a bit daft, as they are obviously different types of player, and that he shouldn't be a tagger in the longer term. He did pretty well at it this year, but it doesn't utilise his strengths and he doesn't...
That's great going. I'd love to do some speed training again. Just need to find an achilles tendon donor.
Must be very hard to manually time it accurately?
That's the point, innit? Regardless of what you think of him as a player, if we brought him over from SA and shafted him on his contract, our rep would go down the toilet. Who would take a chance on us in the future?
We're currently paying sh!thouse-tax on our trades. He can help us improve in the short term. Then we will hopefully stop having pay overs for anyone who wants to come.
Disagree. Clubs do draft night trades based on where they rate players. The club rated Matt in the top 15. If they'd traded the F1 for 10 -15 to pick him, they wouldn't have gotten the F2, which they may be able to use to get back into R2 this year. My first reaction was that it was horrendous...
This will probably have been posted already, but Daniel's value is not just his playing ability. I'm sure they wanted to bring in leadership in a range of ages, as well as field positions. Parker and Darling will be retired or having limited ground time in a couple of years.
