Agree. 'If he isn't fully fit don't play him' - well, I'd rather have maybe a quarter or a half of impact from the player who was the most in-form player in the comp at one point this year, than nothing.
Sounds like the thing we really did wrong was not bring Harry off the ground after we got the notification from the ARC, and the doctors wanting to watch the vision themselves first. I think it's a fair criticism and a fair result to reprimand us but not punish us further.
TDK looks like he's telling the doctor about his troubles breathing in this, so I'd guess the damage was done earlier than the incident we're looking at.
Remarkable, but we haven't.
Since our last flag win:
Finals in Melbourne - won 8 and lost 4 (have not lost a final in Melbourne since the 2001 SF).
Finals interstate - lost all 8.
Also, while it's strictly true that our run of two consecutive 10-goal margins is the first in a long time, we won by 59 points and 60 points back-to-back last year, and had 5 weeks in a row of 50+ wins.
It'd be interesting to factor in where the minor premier was an interstate side, who ends up losing to a Victorian side in the Grand Final. I'd bet that's a fair few examples.
It's just a deeply weird explanation from Laura if nothing else.
First, it just wasn't play on? Called or not, I don't think anyone thinks that should have been play on.
Second, the umpires only call stand when the players are actually on the mark. The Pies players had already encroached and...
There's no guarantee, but it only matters if a Vic side doesn't finish 2nd (is my only point), which probably looks unlikely as it stands. I'd still rather we finish 2nd.
Not sure finishing 3rd is that disastrous if it's a Victorian side that finishes 2nd. In fact no difference at all.
Also on the expected score, we were so poor from the kickouts last night and clearing our back half in that third quarter that many of the behinds and repeat shots may not have...
Been said a lot, but Milburn/Silvagni, the SF against West Coast, and the last two rounds of 2022. I have never watched any of those last three games mentioned again and never can.
We well and truly hit our stride late last year and it felt like it. The start of this year feels more like the start of last year.
It's fine in the sense we want to peak at the right time. But we aren't peaking and this week is a danger game.
It's a danger game because we still haven't hit our strides. It has the feeling still a bit like the start of last year where we were winning but it didn't feel quite right and we were falling over the line. It was Round 5 against the Crows last year where we fell off a cliff. We're better than...
Stamos is right. The word that Clarkson used that starts with C is used not just to denigrate gay people, it doesn't have the same effect as the word that starts with F. One is far worse than the other. If Clarkson had used the F word you can be assured he would have been banned.
A real lack of composure today with a maddening insistence on the play-on handball even where they were just handballing into danger. It wasn't working.
This isn't the time of year to be in peak form, but we're hardly flying at 4-0.
Also, surely a new team rule regarding playing on within 20m...
