We will soon finally have the full compliment of half back flankers available and the time will come to see who can effectively move further afield out of those players. Too much talent to have one or two of them playing VFL.
Out of Bramble/Day/Impey/Morrison/CJ/Scrimshaw I personally would...
I am firmly of the belief Kosi needs to go back.
has the attributes to fill the hole we have at FB. I don't think he has the forward craft or class to succeed at the attacking end of the ground, but does have the speed, the mongrel and the size to be a terrific full back in place of Hartigan...
If Newcombe/ward/MacDonald are all in the round 1 frame it will be interesting to see who is displaced. Shiels will surely be given first crack ahead of the kids? Phillips would have to be under pressure.
this has happened! About 20 of the list got it over the break and the same can be said for most Vic clubs. Some clubs have a large contingent who’ve recovered on light duties this week as a precaution.
Most players will have had it and recovered well before practice matches and the season proper.
Last nights version of Worpel is the one we need to drive this midfield forward. Tough, relentless and with sharp clean hands. Also No coincidence that we start to win some clearance with a ruckman with more reach
As usual for these things; pinch of salt but got some reasonable word that Clarkson and Hawthorn are settling his contract as recently as today for him not to be coaching us next year and also at this stage not looking to be coaching Collingwood or the Blues.
Some cat and mouse being played particularly by Adelaide attempting to scare us into taking Newcombe at 2 and leaving Moyle on the table
Ultimately suspect that a 4 year deal will price these fake suitors out of the market.
Hope we stick to our guns- Moyle first into Newcombe.
Mcevoy is an ageing warrior who's spot in the side isn't disputed, but his leap is leaving him and it leaves us so exposed at centre bounce.
Give the mids a chance at first use and get the big project Reeves in for a crack. Integrating Jeka and Reeves with gunston in the next few weeks makes...
Take with grain of Salt - but hearing the ins are Lewis and Cousins.
That was the minimum for what I would have hoped for but guess we’ll see if its correct that it stops there
Like to see Worpel playing higher percentage on the ball with licence to hunt clearance instinctively and give Mitchell more time on a wing given he is currently playing an uncontested style of accumulating
I like his spirit too I just fear for his lack of tricks and pace as a small man.
Hopefully get another look at Morris in that role this year before a Seamus Mitchell being ready or even a Saunders. Desperately need to get lucky and hit a winner or two in that role like Richmond did so well...
