List Mgmt. Contract, Trade and Draft Discussions - 2024 Post Season

Without doubt it is poor recruiting that has been the major contributing factor to the Eagles current predicament. Their list management and recruitment has lacked imagination - if they want to improve I would suggest they study the way Geelong identify skills and footy IQ as the priorities as...

Review Geelong whip Eagles by 93 points to secure Top 4 spot

Lawson and Nic Nat were poster boys for WCE on bus stops around Perth a few years ago. Funny how the wheel turns 😄

Rumour GFC 2024 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 2

I think you underestimate how much Humphries improves the players around him with his elite vision, decision making and disposal. That is hard to measure 🙂

Maybe if he hadn't eaten so many doritos he might have got drafted earlier ;)

I'll give you that, he'll be a very good player

Can't agree with you. I watched Humphries play in the PSA, WAFL and state 16's over the last few years. At every level he had the best disposal efficiency by either hand or foot of any player on the ground. The modern game is based upon retaining possession. I think the knock on Humphries was...

    Oppo Camp Non-Eagles Discussion

100% - the Eagles recruitment team have been poor for years and they have no imagination. They haven't found a diamond in the rough for years. They are also not good at developing players when you compare them to clubs like Geelong and Sydney - that's why they find themselves in their current...

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club news

Humphries had 23 disposals at an incredible 96% efficiency, and had 13 marks (the most by any player on the ground) in the prime time Friday night game at the "G", not to mention his many one percenters. Clearly he was the correct nomination for the Rising Star award this week

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

He didn't stop taking footy seriously for a season. He was focused on his anthropology studies and he was working two part-time jobs to make ends meet. Now he is in a full-time professional training environment and at a club with great player development - that is the difference

Toast Round 18 NAB Rising Star 🌟 nomination Lawson Humphries

Mitch Edwards and Connor Sullivan will eventually be very good players for the Cats. Both are great athletes and they are strong competitors. They just need to get a bit of strength and coordination

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

Well Geelong picked him and now he is starring alongside Dempsey, Stewart, Atkins and a couple of other players that other clubs showed no interest in. Eagles recruitment team has no imagination, they only see the obvious

Yeah Lawson Humphries - o'h hold on he's at Geelong because the Eagles didn't want him

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade and Draft Discussions - 2024 Edition

I was of the same opinion having watched a bit of Humphries in the PSA, WAFL and state 16's. His disposal by either hand or foot was always elite at any level I saw him play in, and the modern game is built upon retaining possession. I think he had 96% disposal efficiency against Collingwood on...

    Oppo Camp Non-Eagles Discussion

Have to disagree. I watched a lot of Humphries in the PSA and the WAFL over the last few years and in every level he played in he had the best disposal with either hand and foot of anyone on the ground. Funny what can happen when you put a kid with those skills in a professional training environment

Not to mention ignoring Tim Kelly for 3 drafts whilst he was playing for South Fremantle when they could have rookied him before giving up 3 first round picks to Geelong to get him back. Geelong must love West Coast's recruiting team

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade and Draft Discussions - 2024 Edition

Can’t agree with you although he is obviously a much better player now than in 2021. I watched Humphries a lot in PSA and WAFL footy over the last few years and at every level he played at he was the best kick on both feet and made players around him better. It’s no coincidence that his fellow...

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade and Draft Discussions - 2024 Edition

Humphries was first eligible for the AFL draft the same year (2021) as his Hale School team mate and first round draft pick Neil Erasmus. In that same year Humphries was vice captain of Swan Districts premiership colts team which included Darcy Jones and Elijah Hewitt, and he was selected in the...

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade and Draft Discussions - 2024 Edition

Eagles current predicament is largely attributable to their recruitment team who have no imagination and just focus on what players can’t do rather than what they can do. They showed no interest in Lawson Humphries when he was in their next gen academy and he is now making a huge difference to...

Autopsy Cats lose to Swans by 30 points

George Stevens and Mitch Edwards are both going to become very good AFL players. George has elite disposal by hand and foot and great footy IQ but just needs to develop the running side of his game. Mitch is a fantastic athlete for his size, he can run all day and is a very good contested mark -...

What the Coach Said “Lawson Humphries has been outstanding. Coming into an AFL environment, his first six games have been super and today I thought he was fantastic. Defensively he wins contests and rarely gets beaten, but then he helps us enormously offensively. He has built a really well...
