Played as a tagger on Simon black. Maybe the norm smith voters valued tagging 😃 Peter burgoyne and pickett the difference makers from memory and if akermanis hadn't had a brain fade probably port don't win it at all.
Thats Kane's go to line but the premiership he was a bench player and the b&f's probably a measure of the toxicity they had going on down there, if kane wins four and Chad none then there's something wrong
A bullet dodged he wasn't a difference player and then there was the downside of the rifts he caused with the playing group causing Shaun burgoyne to leave, although Shaun's career ended up pretty underwhelming. Chad cornes on the other hand was a champ you'd take every day of the week
Just a role player, to the point he might not have had enough credibility to calve out any media career.
At a proper club he wouldn't have played so many games, same goes for reilly, douglas and van berlo in the 200 game club for us.
Nope, been alluded to that he's the football voice on the board. Probably has done himself no favours by making the occasional disrespectful comment towards fans or outgoing players.
The main reason the crows have always been a mediocre club is because of its bigness im not sure if it's the...
Can happen but it was an unusual delisting in the sense they cut him a year short, rendell was making the point that him and mckernan had the ability but just needed some support rather than the neil craig treatment who by this stage was doing red flags all over the place. Rendell was of course...
Nope.... that's just what you repeated on here at nausiuem for many years despite the evidence coming out that they were all in on it, the board included, because you thought you had a friendship with trigg who you were protecting (your words😃)
Personally I think once the evidence came out you...
Okay well to me saying Geelong "got away with far, far, far more" does imply either we weren't so bad or Geelong have done something to the level of breaking the rules like we did, but if you think not fine 😃
I don't know what Geelong have done apart from this chris Scott thing which they're...
Really? Jenny usually manages to slip in once or twice a year how trigg is still innocent 😃
I kinda agree with your point that we might have fought a better fight, probably couldn't have been handled worse or more selfishly, and also set up worse by putting it on paper, but at the same time...
I never liked this attitude by some supporters which I think is dying out, but still that we were somehow innocent with tippett and other clubs are guilty of worse. Nope we were stone cold guilty! Geelong pushes the limits, within the rules and there's a difference
😃 maybe slightly tongue in cheek, offically it's 60/40 with auskick isn't it? But I've always thought most the latent support in the state is untapped crows supporters, port one of the most subsidised teams in the league.
Yes that what makes us a big club, having 85% of support in the state, what advantages that entails compared to a big Victorian club I'll leave to you to decide, but justin reid bemoaning our situation when you have much smaller clubs having no problems attracting players including port...
On being a big club. Who were they traditionally? the pies, richmond, carlton, maybe essendon, west coast and the crows? But run your club badly enough or well enough for long enough and it can change desirability
Those other clubs apart from Sydney with extra salary cap made themselves...
Brown beat him too, rutten not so much. It's funny how players like players they beat 😃 judd says shirley was his best tagger but when it came to the crunch judd beat him too. But having said that Kenny was probably our best mark upforward in that period i reckon
Crows really should be a top 5 destination club maybe higher, pay market wages and suddenly the players stopped leaving and we attracted new ones despite a prolonged period of under performance
I think he did slip an organic growth in there too but i was too shaken by the gibbs comment to exactly remember the context 😃 thanks for sharing the interview as well it was interesting, I think reid a decent operator maybe but when he makes comments like that about big picture stuff it makes...
I liked up till his ruck comment which was all over the place, but also a few pearlers at the end there:
his view of not needing to 'trade for the sake of it' was solidified in 2016 as 'we didn't trade for gibbs in 2016 and yet still won the minor premiership' ...yes... and then got hammered in...
Wasn't up to it, as I'm sure he'd admit in hindsight, took himself too seriously
Probably two posters who don't take themselves too seriously and are reliable, as well as posting a lot, would be froggy and spenze but if someone becomes a mod their posts are usually not the same too so that...
I wasn't comparing port and the crows that was 119others continuing with his creepy attempt to label crows supporters as port supporters...
I only said that we've been poor traditionally at it, so maybe cleric's story had some merit, even this year we missed the best talent we wanted, but at...
Still going with the port thing I see 😃 and no if the crows were properly run they should have the pick of the talent eg jhf, Lukosius and Port would have the scraps, that's how it used to be
Agree an area we've always neglected draft wise oddly, and with our traditional bomb it long and hope gameplan one which would have benefited from a that sort of player over the years
Lol I mean it's a fine game sure but if he had developed shouldn't be a standout. His return this year was great he was the difference maker for us but I thought it saved what otherwise had been a disappointing development, but just an opinion
It was outdated when rendell was saying it but he still said those things 😃 the point was we have a long history of being very poor at player attraction and retention so it's not beyond the realm of possibilities
