We have seen the almighty $$$$ have a big effect in winning flags in this division over the past couple of years so with this in mind my early tip is East Malvern.
East Malvern
Hampton Park
Chelsea Hts
Frankston (club on the rise)
Doveton (will drop off a little)
Caulfield
Mordialloc
Endeavour...
Why then now that they are merged don’t rotate or share home games at both grounds? Am I right in saying that the Rec Reserve is now a soccer pitch? Showgrounds a better option hence why it was chosen?
These clubs are probably a few seasons away from joining the SFL in hindsight. With that in mind we know how quickly the footy landscape can change. So it could be really anyone who makes way for them. Would be good gets for the league only strengthening the depth of the competition further.
The division will be a lot stronger next year with effectively 3 good ins- Berwick Springs, St Kilda City and Skye. Hampton will be very competitive too but a step up. Will push for finals. Frankston only quality team gone.
So where does this fit the All Stars in the scheme of things?
Some of us have locked away the top 2 from last year, Springy, Narre and St Paul’s as probably the top 5…then still have EB and Cranny (who are always consistent as well). Will make for an interesting season.
Port Colts hit and miss...
Club 18 or Thirds (whatever you want to call it) is a year by year prospect for a lot of clubs. There is probably some clubs that had a team in it this year that won’t next and on the flip side clubs that didn’t that might get overflow of players and enter a team. So hard to gauge where they...
Both Marcellin and DLS have played Metro Masters before joining VAFA Masters. They have won flags in that comp as well. Would suggest they would both move across and maybe Oakleigh (no other Masters comp to play in around their area unless they go to Eastern league). When did St Kevin’s stop...
Yeah they have done amazingly not sure what the secret to success is obviously some wealthy farmers up that way who support their footy club $$. Adam Schneider ex St Kilda and Sydney originally from there and went back to coach / play with them after he retired from AFL and got himself a few...
Osborne in the Hume League have some sort of record for an outpost. Population under 50 yet check how many flags they have won in the last 30 years. Unbelievable record!
