Agree with this. I believe Endeavour may yoyo in and out of the bottom 3. They've recruited Josiah Kyle who is a very good player, but he will play 3 or 4 games and take his sign on fee and bail like he does every year. Besides that, I don't believe there line up has changed.

Agree in regards to anyone on there day could beat anyone. Going to be a very tight comp in div 2
Ye spot on Kyle has don’t that at about 5 clubs over the past couple of years good old Danny Casset was good at that as well but

You sound like a massive sook. Although, you do love to suck up on facebook and then cry on bigfooty. Murrumbeena had an extra month of footy train due to playing finals which equals less time than most of clubs for the ground to recover. I'm sure after 1 month the ground would be fine to play on.
Listen in whole it was a bad winter for sport , teams just need to move around when doing warm ups etc. some just train in the one area.
Also in the past grounds got a rest every 2nd week , or maybe had only say a 19s game , but now with girls footy the grounds don't get a rest .
I'm not bagging any club , but there should not be training on turf grounds before Xmas.
Thanks for your opening line

Actually just looked them up looks like a few of them played at east Malvern previously and were in barooga best regularly in a side that finished second bottom so they probably go well and good pick ups for them plus the ruckman from VFL

The Bella Nippatina syndicate funds starting to be splurged.

Maybe or just all m8s playing together the league barooga are in isn’t that strong and they were not one of the strongest sides in that comp so who knows the quality of the players they have picked up from there as well ??
Barooga play in the Murray League which isn’t that bad. It would be on a par with SFL D2….couple of strong clubs in that league.

League overall in a very strong spot

Agreed. I've just come across to the league and one of the biggest swinging points for me was the quality teams coming across and also the quality players as well. League is really benefiting from the south east teams leaving there respective leagues to come to Southern. Another 5 years I believe Beacy and Berwick will be in the league too.

Think it will be sooner then that and if both clubs mention did come across well considering the league there both in atm both would want to start in Division 1 which means for 3 clubs go down with 2 clubs coming in and Division 2 premiers going up.
What would be ideal for Southern is lower grade VAFA south clubs wanting to come in to make that standard better.

I doubt either would be walk up starts in Div 1 SFNL given the expected strength of that competition in 2025.

Think ideally they’d come together and make a 12 club division, then slowly over a few years it could be dropped back to make it a bit more gradual.

Agree with this. Can't just drop teams down each time a quality club comes across. Has to be gradual.

Bring in a couple more teams from somewhere and drop a team from Div to Div it’s going to be much harder to win a flag to go up

Eastern Premier is superior to Southern 1st Division mind Eastern 1st Division is about the same as Southern 1st Bewick a certainly for Southern 1st Beaconsfield could start in Division 2 but as long as the standard gets better

Who do you kick out of Division 1 for them to come in?

You'd probably assume Bentleigh at this stage if it were to happen off current form and playing list. Beacy and Berwick would both go into division 1 and hold there own quote convincingly.

Far out, that’s harsh on Bentleigh! Been in Div1 since I can remember. Two unders teams. Women’s team and a thirds team? Thanks for your efforts but get down to Div2!

Don't think it has anything to do with them being a good club, but purely based on where there seniors are and have been the past couple years. I honestly see them getting relegated next year looking at there previous season and who they've lost. Or, Murrumbeena YoYo down. They've lost some handy players too and it's a big jump this year.

These clubs are probably a few seasons away from joining the SFL in hindsight. With that in mind we know how quickly the footy landscape can change. So it could be really anyone who makes way for them. Would be good gets for the league only strengthening the depth of the competition further.

If I were doing it I’d make it as fair as possible by bringing them in to D1 for a 12 club comp. Then 1-2 years later so that everybody has notice and can plan accordingly I’d relegate 3 and promote 1 to even up the comps.
Bit like what the Eastern league did when they bought across the same clubs.
