News 2023 Finals Tickets Thread (Rusted on Posters only)

Hey guys, as a P3 member I missed out in the ballot. Wish I had of known adding social club to my membership would have bumped me into P2, but that’s another story. Anyway, if anyone has a standing room ticket they are looking to off-load, please hit me up for a chat. To all those going, enjoy...

That's a great write-up. Thanks for posting it. What a gun, wish him all the best for his 200th.

Toast McRae era (2022-) = see OP

Agreed. McRae came across much more engaging and personable. No wonder the players are relating to him so well, and want to play for him.

    Player Watch Mason Cox

A kid in the row behind us at the semi on Saturday night was squirming in his seat all game waiting to see Coxy kick his 100th goal. Had no idea he went in on 99. By the time he nailed it, even the most jaded/pessimistic supporter (my old man) was celebrating with the young fella. Think its...

Couldn't agree more with this. Will also need his creative kicking. Rushed, dump kicks out of the D50 will just come flying back in. Him and Daicos are exceptional at finding a risky target, but nailing the kick.

Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion - Preliminary Final vs. Sydney Swans, Saturday 17/09, 4:45pm, SCG

I don’t think they should bring in another key position player (I.e. Krueger). This game will be won and lost in the midfield. Pressure around the ball from both teams has been immense all year. Most entries will likely be chaos balls. And when we do get a clean entry opportunity, have to...

    Player Watch Patrick Lipinski

Yeah I read that too earlier in the week. Don’t know what surprised me more, that he was nominated (clearly underrated externally) or that clubs put players up as candidates. Always thought it was a completely independent. Clearly shows that coaches value different things to commentators (and...

Where are you watching the game?

This is a great initiative. Feel like the club is doing a good job connecting with the fans this season.

Where are you watching the game?

Just at home with the old man and our recently purchased defibrillators for weekend use. What a season. Go Pies!

Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion - Preliminary Final vs. Sydney Swans, Saturday 17/09, 4:45pm, SCG

I wasn't too concerned about Buddy at the start of the week. Thought Moore might be able to exploit him. But as this conceivably could be Buddy's last game at the SCG in front of a home crowd, if there is one player who can rise for a big occasion...

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2022-->

Disappointing if this is accurate. Sticky hands and accurate kicking are good attributes to have in the forward line. However, I trust our club to manage contracts better these days and not overpay players, like we done in the past.

I agree with this. I think they will back him in to work through the tag. He is good enough. The "positional change" lever can be pulled if things aren't going our way in the early stages of the game.

Yeah, I heard somewhere he might be hampered by a groin complaint, but can find very little reference to it. Given he wasn't mentioned in the club's injury report, I am optimistic he is ok. Famous last words...

I agree with all this. Can’t see the coaches meddling too much at this point. From all accounts Bianco played his role.

I've been mulling this question too. Sydney also has McDonald as a young key forward. I don't mind Darcy playing on Buddy though. Darcy is far more superior in the air, and will back himself to out-mark Buddy, or work-off him with his closing-speed and get across and help the other two...

Mega Thread The Welcome Thread - If you're new (or old) to BigFooty introduce yourself here

Hi all, long time lurker. Decided it was finally time to join the conversation! I'm a life-long Collingwood supporter. When my father moved from Greece as a child they settled in Clifton Hill. He chose Collingwood as his team because Victoria Park was the closest ground. Have fond memories of...

Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion - Preliminary Final vs. Sydney Swans, Saturday 17/09, 4:45pm, SCG

Hi all, long time lurker. Decided it was finally time to join the conversation! I don't think there will be any changes for the Prelim. Throughout the season, the coaches have more often than not backed-in a winning line-up. Can't see that changing now. I'm confident the coaches and players...
