I agree completely with Gandaal. The Hawthorn recruiting department is a disgrace. Last year they drafted a bunch of lame ducks who have done nothing, and appear set to continue doing nothing.
Message to Hawthorn recruiting department.
HAVE YOU HAD A GOOD LOOK IN YOUR OWN BACK YARD...
Thank you GNC LONGJACK-couldn't agree more. If the recruiting personnel at Hawthorn know anything about skill and ability (which at the moment seems highly unlikely given who they have drafted) - they will HAVE A GOOD LOOK IN THEIR OWN BACK YARD.
JASON COOK....EVAN JOHNSON....BRAD KELLEHER...
Hawthorns draft selections clearly show that their recruiting staff are hopelessly out of touch with contemporary football standards. In 2006 they recruited a bunch of lame ducks who have done nothing, and will continue to do nothing. This year, its a bunch of would-be-if-they-could-be...
Note also... Kelleher kicked 42 goals for the Eastern Ranges in half a season in the TAC Cup...thus has proven that he can play at both ends equally well. At AFL level, would probably make an excellent midfielder and/or flanker.
Here's a smokey for you guys to consider. There's a kid called Brad Kelleher currently playing in the VFL who I believe would be good value for the Lions in 2007. Kelleher was expected to be taken in the 2005 draft but was somehow overlooked. He is 188cm and 86 kg...represented VicMetro in...

To Mojo 31: Any chance of a reply to post #311 re Marcus Crook and Brad Kelleher at Box Hill Hawks, and whether or not you see them as a chance for the 2006 draft. My personal belief is that Kelleher is easily good enough to be considered in the top 10. He can play in any position, and in...
To Weaver...Do you have an opinion on possible draft chances from players currently in the VFL...especially those players who were considered in the 2005 draft but were not chosen.
Have seen Kelleher playing for Eastern Ranges and for Box Hill. 2005 was an exceptional year for him, having played Vic Metro, then being named in the TAC Cup team of the year and finally invited to draft camp in Canberra where he was interviewed by at least five AFL clubs and performed well...
Re Hawthorn's youth...agree with one previous post that presently, they are a group of boys trying to compete with men. They will continue to get flogged and will win the wooden spoon. But that is an inevitable consequence of a team that clearly does not care about the 4 premiership points...
Mojo....I'm also interested in your thoughts on Marcus Crook and Brad Kelleher....who are both at Box Hill Hawks this year. (Further to post No. 311 which does not appear to have been replied to yet). N.B... both players starred in the ressies against Werribee, especially Kelleher who had at...
Wizzer......I'm interested to know your opininions of 2004-2005 Eastern Ranges player Brad Kelleher. In 2005 Kelleher played for Vic Metro where he slaughtered Mitchell Clark and Jay Neagle (both drafted), made TAC Cup team of the year at full back, and was invited to Canberra Draft Camp. He...
Kelleher kicked 42 goals for Eastern in half a season on the forward line, was then placed at full back for Vic Metro where he slaughtered Jay Neagle and Mitchell Clark. Due to injuries to KPP on Eastern's backline, he was then used to fill the void for the second half of the season, which he...
52. Brad Kelleher – Sydney
His versatility may appeal to the Swans. He was shaping as a handy FF until an absence of FBs saw him drafted into the Vic Metro squad as a defender. Took to the role instantly and finished the season strongly. Not quite tall enough, but has a good leap to compensate...
IMO nobody drafted by Hawthorn will be good enough to play AFL in 2006. Heath Hocking and Shannon Hurn look good enough to play based on physical strength, skill and tenacity. And Brad Kelleher, (had he been drafted), would also have been AFL ready.
