Players are made accountable publicly perhaps they should be as well.

Half the problem is they are a protected species. If they were more accountable for some of the rediculous decisions that they make then things might improve, but while they can hide it just encourages mediocraty.

Seven own the rights to everything pre late 80's/1990 (can't remember the exact year, but is somewhere around there), and are free to use that footage as much as and whenever they like. Foxtel only bought the old ABC archives when they were unable to buy/access the Seven archives.

Actually it was the second. Besides personally I think 8:30 on a Friday night is a better time than 7:30. It allows people to get home from work, the pub, or even get home from late night shopping and have hardly missed any of the game.
