Way out-there prediction:
Chairman Dan to give a one-day only exemption from COVID lockdowns so that friends and families can celebrate two Victorian clubs playing in the Grannie.
Back into lockdown the next day, but imagine what a boost it would give the community - and also to his numbers.
Can relate. There are a few of us old crusties who remember the really dark times.
Cue Monty Python's - "My family lived in a shoebox in the middle of the road". ;-)
What's the chance he'll get some media love in the next two weeks? I'm thinking he just might. So many worthy stories, actually, but now we have two weeks to cover them. Not one.
Yeah, surprised the heck a lot of us. Going back to 2019 (?) there was a match against Port in pouring rain (I mean, torrential) which we won, and he clunked everything in sight (in the wet!) and kicked as accurately as he does now. Someone on here posted a link to it a little while back.
Maybe...
It would be a fairytale, for them, after 57 years, but not a patch on ours! But good on them.
Of course I'll be barracking for the Dogs, but if the boys do their best, and the game is fairly umpired, I'm at peace with the Dees winning a flag. I remember the relief I felt in 2016.
Go Dogs!
If we win the flag, the DVD boxed set of the finals series could be marked up to $200 and be sold out in a day.
Yeah, the '16 flag was special, but this has something about it, too. I suppose I could make bookends with each set.
Same here. I breathed a sigh of relief. The captain, too. Even better :-)
I'll put my hand up and say I was extremely doubtful about the selection of Martin (love the bloke, actually), but ultimately had faith in the MC and Bev. Yeah, some pretty suss decisions over the course of the year, but...
I've heard firsthand stories of Dogs supporters journey to the Lost Land.
Simply reaffirms my intentions to never visit the Gates of Hell. You're all brave people.
I'm rather at ease with a result either way. As long as we don't get killed with zero intensity (won't happen), I'm proud of the boys and Bevo.
So many obstacles have been put in their path. I really didn't expect them to go this deep into the finals. Well done.
Poor old Isaac (well, not really, given he had success at Hawthorn):
In 2016 he had a deadset easy shot for goal after the siren to win the game against Geelong, and put them into a Prelim (?). Instead, he fluffed it, putting them into a match against the Bulldogs, but they were still favourites...
