depends on what code they follow. that's more applied to the union followers, whereas league supporters are generally "knuckle-dragging bogans" or something similar. although i have to admit that i never heard my melbournian dad refer to my sydneysider mum as either, so who knows......
apparently the consequences for handing the storm the lead before half time are, well, a couple of points on the ladder. pretty disappointed that we couldn't really put them away in the second half, but still happy to get the win. should i stay up and watch the delayed telecast, or give this one...
agreed. with the storm being a red hot chance for the premiership this year, why not strike now?? if they win again, their following is going to jump again next year, which would, to me at least, equate to an excellent opportunity to market the game in any way possible in melbourne.
personally...
i believe live/slightly delayed storm games broadcast in melbourne would rate very highly, but apparently ch9 disagrees, for some reason that they alone know. the storm have taken off like a rocket here, especially after the salary cap furore, and i think it should be a massive priority to see...
i spent 25 years in brisbane as an afl supporter, and got used to being royally screwed every weekend. inconvenient, yes, but it was just the way it went. if it was a game that i really wanted to see, i went to the pub. easy. everybody just knew that no amount of bitching and moaning would ever...
cheers :) i've been recruited by lioness (speaking of whores), so unfortunately (or fortunately? unsure at this point) i don't have much choice of teams.... also been a fitzroy member in recent times, so there you go.

I would never, ever wish Akermanis to be involved with my club in any way, shape or form. AFL coverage in QLD is constantly bombarded with his arrogance and immaturity, and he's the sole reason that two of my best mates, who are league/union fans, refuse to have anything to do with AFL...
Just out of curiousity, you don't count Essendon of 2000 a "super team"? IIRC they didn't do too badly... I personally would be pretty damn "satisfied" if I'd captained that team that year.
