Rumours are abounding, that in a few years time the AFL will re-introduce the reserves and U19 competition once again..anyone heard anything.
Will mean that the VFL clubs may end up playing in their local suburban competitions.
Brayden Shaw may have been on an AFL list , but did not play one game in the AFL, he spent most of his two years in Willy's 2nds,his slow pace will suit the NFL,he has very good hands so running players will benefit with that, believe me he has been over rated all his career
Kouta is...
Re: Northern Football League Division 2
And will Thornbury, Collingwood Districts, Richmond City, St Andrews, Fairfield Park,Keon Park what a joke to have the Stars thinking of coming back....even if they do, give them one year and it will be all over again.
And we all thought the League...
Re: Northern Football League Division 2
My affliation is with the great game of football, I may well be wrong on the GF, but what I see with results and the games of seen of all the contenders this season, they Watsonia and Lalor impress me a lot,
Re: Northern Football League U19's
Can anyone assist, has Watsonia been pleased with their first U19 side in years, considering they continually get smashed every week, or have they given up on them.
How many of their U19's have had a go in the"ones", do the senior coaches, feedback to the...
Correct ypu'll probably find the kids all play with local clubs, but that still doesn't preclude the OP's in working hard to try and get them to the U19's etc.
Just an observer and part time news hound of Junior and senior local football, if their the best, then their ratio of sides/players to premierships is pretty low, if you have the time to peruse all junior comps in Australia, you'll find there are a lot more successful clubs, player/team to...
Of course nothing can be signed, but he was right, they left the Old paradians and went to watsonia, what Watsonia have to be careful is that the might of St Mary's sees St Mary's taking it over, they are a lot better run than Watsonia.Everyone may laugh and scoff, but be very careful...
And your response to will your players turn up to away games, will they behave themselves, they may be planning for 2008, at least they have platers, money and a Club to plan with.
By the way didn't know Fawkner was park of a "motor"
Parade school is still pretty good football wise, made the last 4 in the Herald Shield last season, and play off for the final this season in a couple of weeks. But none of the players migrate to the OP's, I don;t know why, maybe it's the same as St M and St D, you'd have to ask the school...
Watsonia are IN FACT doing very nicely thankyou, maybe on field a bit behind, but with nearly three quarters of the side new, it takes a while to gel, their U19's are battling but have played sides that will figure in the finals and most of the players are only 17 against bigger and older...
You are obviously a die hard OP , but face the fact, the letter was out, ask any of the 19's who aren't playing there this season. The correspondent did not say St M and St D players had to play at OP's when finished at U17 level, I think what h is trying to say if OP's really cared about them...
Watsonia have been trying to get a Junior club on their ground ever since they nearly folded. They tried real hard with St Damian's but they said no.
St Mary's were more receptive and deal was done middle of last year.
Ther are St Mary's 2006 U17's playing in the 19's at Watsonia
That's becasue the NFL is exactly like the DVFL, it will never change, they all still want to live in the past of the 70's , 80's and 90's.
By the way did anyone hear the Match of the day, how bad was the commentary
I watched the 19's in the first game of the season, they have some talented players and a couple would go all right in the ones, irrespective of body size, Lalor have 12 or so U19/17's and some of them have small frames, should Dick from Collingwood not be playing AFL, he's built like a...
Agree I think the few talented players the Watsy U19's have were sucked in by the hype, but I'm sure they'll stick with them till the end of the season and do attempt to play at their very best.
As to the sniping, wasn't the new improved NFL going to stop all of that, you can't blame any...
Mill Park staring D2 in 2008 in the face, a once proud club becoming victim to "must play at a better club" to make the knights final squad..bullshit.. but try and convince parents
Surely we haven't forgotten the greatest and no dispute about it:::
Mario(Jezza) Cipolla( Nth Heidelberg, Lalor, Watsonia) premiership player with each and in each clubs best team of all time.....
Eat your words, he is blitzing them at Bundy, even getting respect from his team mates who are finaly seeing his ability, if he isn't better than Santoro...well...........watch him win the B&F and make the U19 rep side.
Best player in D1
Imposing on Saturday morning was the Bundy Under19's, absolute shoeins to win the flag under the great Bill Price. What are sight to see these players strut their stuff.
Watch this place but the best Under 19's player not playing at the moment, will be pulling on the boots very shortly for the...
Does anyone know where the greatest player ever to come out of Mill Park -"Carbs" is playing this season.
How he isn't at the Knights is just amazing and a disgrace, should have been up there in the top 10 to be drafted this season.
Hope he sticks it up everyone where ever he plays this season.
