From what I saw he was not great. He appeared to be moved around into different positions all day and it was hard to tell how much influence he had on the game.
Lappin floated around the backline and appeared to be CHB at times. I think Saddo started at CHB but due to the fact the Devils dont have a true CHF he moved up forward.
I think it was a match up thing. The Devils FF is their only big bodied forward and Austin seemed to be the best fit.
I think Austin could play either FB or CHB. He is very composed and good under pressure on the last line of defence.
Just got home from the game.
Fairly poor skills from both sides.
My opinion on a couple of Carlton listed players performances today:
Walker played well and ran all day. He appeared to be very angry today and was being very physical. He also took what was described on ABC radio as...
The advantage that Tassie has is the North and South aspect of the state. If games were split 50/50 between Hobart and Launceston, it will provide scope to involve the entire state and provide access to about 400K potential members and supporters.
The biggest problem facing the Tassie bid...
The stupid thing about this is that we have only won 5 games this year and are not even the top 8. Pull yourselves together people.
So its OK to have top draft picks in your side when you are on the bottom of the ladder, but if you win a couple of games it becomes a major issue. Nobody...
Re: Ratten: "Hackland is right to go and could be in the seniors this week"
Give him a go.
If he is serious about his future he will have a crack, if not then we know where we stand.
IMO there is no point having a highly paid experienced ruckman running around for the bullants when we are...
Dont get me wrong, Scarlett is awesome and clearly the best full back in the comp
But
Good teams in modern day football support their fullbacks alot more than in SOS's day.
You now see a greater emphasis on - Defesive pressure in the midfield,
Flooding, and Tempo football, allowing teams to...
After feeling a bit down about things after a big build up in the pre season, I had a good hard think about things and began to get positive again. We are in a much better position this year than we were last year. Here's why;
- Under pagan we where at maximum fitness and ready to go by round...
When im living in Melbourne I get a social club membership. This is the last of three years living in tassie which means interstate membership.
Not paid up yet. Its only about $1oo but thats alot to a full time student
Im just glad that our admin is having a crack. Whether or not you think they will end up at carlton or not makes for interesting reading but to me is irrelevant.
If Judd or Pav dont come then so be it, but Its nice to know that something is being done to ensure we are successfull rather than...
If.... and thats a big IF, Fev gets traded then Kouta would be a great option at full forward. He still takes a good grab and his hands in close would help to lock the ball in the forward line. He would also be able to help with development of JK in the forward line. If he isnt running all day...
The Brittain - Fev issues is not an issue at all.
5 years has passed and I am sure that Fev himself would possibly admit that he wasnt performing to expectations 5 years ago.
Dennis had the ability to lift Fev and get the most out of him, probably one of Dennis's biggest achievments at the...
Re: so who comes in this week?
I havent, but would love to see someone his size rucking for us. When he was drafted I heard good reports about him and would love to see his development fast tracked.
Divided Between,
Fevola
I think it would be great for both the club and Fev if he got it. If it wasnt for a couple of incidents last year Fev would be captain now.
Scotland
Loads of experience, great opportunity for him to be recognized for his efforts with the blues.
Murphy
Will be captain...
With a road trip to perth next week, I dont think many players would benefit more from playing in the 2s than having a week off. Playing at Subiaco is the toughest task in football and also effects the teams performance the week after.
Rest up boys.
We all get to see 4 of them play tonight. Theres some quality in that list. Im quite happy with the three that will be lining up for the blues tonight though.
4 points is a win win situation every time.
Do you think that if Hawthorn beats us that they will think its not a win for them because we have stevens, cloke and betts out?
Teams who win eleven games play finals, not teams who win seven games against full strength teams.
No No No.
One of the main reasons that we havent had major fade outs in the last couple of weeks is because when on of our starting midfielders has a rest, Blackwell can come in for 5-10 min and continue the pressure.
Our midfield rotations are very important when playing the high tempo game...
