Please no more suggestions of depth players, we have enough of them on our list.
Just want players who will play every week that will make a difference to our structure.
1 year difference between the 2, hardly any difference. Lake was not the hardest trainer. I get your concern about Jones playing in a 2nd tier competition.
I am optimistic that Jones will be a point of difference in our backline.
A few on here point to Liam Jones's age and express concerns. Some reports stated he was looking very fit. People forget the B Lake went to Hawthorn at 32yo, that turned out alright for the Hawks.
Its a free hit that could pay handsome dividends, I think its a no brainer.
Logue vs Lobb
Logue was sent forward this season as he could not get a game down back, played more of a defensive forward role. At 22yo, he has yet to have a consistent season down back therefore he is still unproven. At 193cms, I am not convinced that he can play on the monster forwards ie...
Wouldn’t we have to part with a lateish pick if he cones to us as a FA.
Hence why I thought it could form part of the Dunkley trade. Not sure what the rules are.
That said Darcy Gardiner isn’t the most reliable kick.
Can we afford this with Ryan Gardiner and Liam Jones also questionable kicks?
Looking more like Brisbane, they won’t have an early first round pick.
Darcy Gardiner as a Morris type defender and a late first round pick might be the best we will get.
Comes out of contract this year.
Brisbane will be knee deep in accumulating enough points for Ashcroft who will go pick 1.
The way I see it, the only way Dunkley goes there is if Brisbane trade a player they otherwise would not want to.
KT, some questions on Redpath:
How did he get the ball ie contested marking or on a lead or both. Im hoping he does not just rely on his contested marking to get the ball.
I'm told he has a nice kick on him.
Also how is his mobility when the ball hits the ground?
If Will is as good as some believe, why can't he get a game ahead of Hudson?
Hudson has 2nd and 3rd efforts at the centre bounce which enables up to win more contested footy
So much for them wearing their Dads numbers. Probably did not want any added pressure although the number 3 has alot of pressure associated with it given Grant & EJ wore it.
This is true however he has continuosly failed in finals against genuine contenders, he is not alone though....Gilbee, Eagle & Hahn are in the same boat.
Everybody seems to think if we got Setanta he would play forward and pinch hit in the ruck.
Has anyone considered that he may be recruited as a centre half back to play on the monsters as well as pinch hit in the ruck?
I doubt we will get screwed over. It could be one of their young highly rated prelisted players and Krakouer for all we know.
That would not be a bad result.
- Our backline needs to tighten up even more (hoping Williams can develop further)
We need more aggresive players on our list, not just players who tackle with no intent. I want players who thrive on it. The tackles have to hurt their opponents.
- Speedy midfielders (Collingwood have...
Thats a fair call, it could mean we send him to a Port for example in exchange for their 3rd round.
This in turn could mean we get a Veszpremi type or choose to keep the pick.
