Will Minson- Hit Outs

assuming hudson can still perform at afl level?? ahhh.... have you not watched any of the games this year?

You question me but you write off Minson with no evidence?

Huddo's time is up. Isn't fit enough and the game has gone past him. He hasn't played that well at all this year.

You are only saying he has because you are that set on Minson failing.

no evidence??? take pretty much his whole career to date as evidence!!!
he has had more down games than up games.
i used to love will, he was one of my favourite players, then he went into decline and hasnt showed anything since. playing well in the vfl doesnt mean anything. playing well against collingwoods 2nd ruck (who is a very sub par ruckman) doesnt mean anything.

i dont want any of our players to fail... i want 100% from them every game. with minson, you get 100% from him about 25% of the time
huddo gives 100% about 90% of the time.

saying huddo hasnt played well this year is fair enough, but the team as a whole has been under performing this year too. no one except boyd and murph have been playing up to expected standards.

And Minson can't improve?

Will 'The dumbest smart bloke in the league' Minson....

I just summed up that hacks Bulldogs career.
Oh wait he got 56 hitouts on the weekend, brownlow?
Nawwwt!

to the people saying minson is better than huddo, no. just no okay...
huddo would have demolished in the ruck yesterday, its just unfortunate he couldnt play. if you think will with his 56 tapouts was good, huddo would have no doubt broken all sorts records and got a minimum of 75

He is a dud and should not been in the team let alone at the club. He has had toio many chances and let us down time and time again. He is a dumb footballer, bad kick, cannot take a contested mark and provides very little value to the side hence we tried to send to to GC only for them to think that Fraser was a better choice.

I do think that Will is a better tap ruck than Huddo. The problem is that it an irrelevant skill.

minson can improve, yes.
he can improve his work around the ground, watch huddo and see how he gets in and under packs when he needs.

We don't need a 200cm inside mid, we already have to many inside players. We need a ruck who can hit it to advantage, which Big Will can.

Will is is king in my books. I got the impression that Rocket wasn't as impressed with his efforts as we were though, certainly does not appear to rate him at all.

Agreed - and considering Eade is loathe to pick him these days, and tried to trade him, the feeling will probably be mutual..

Oh well, isn't it a good problem to have three ruckmen that are at least capable?

Credit where due, he tried on the weekend, was moderately effective and deserves to be in the side next week ahead of Roughy. However within 18 months Roughy will be wiping his behind with his toupee.

Good enough.

more than one. especially as the one he played was against one of the leagues worst tap out ruckmen.a sub par ruckman

minson is too inconsistent, when he can string 5 good games together (if he can actually hold his spot for that long), then maybe opinions will change, but for now.. him playing one good game against a sub par ruckmen is nothing to judge by.

give it a week or two, and everyone will be on linkman's side.

Well I could say a few things to refute such posts, but I am reminded of a quote
"Never argue with idiots.....it just brings you down to their level"

Well done Will. Clearly a better ruckman then any current player not seen as a walk up start at their club and much better at the ruck caper than many who are a walk up start at their club.

Will is at the age that Hudson started at the Bulldogs.
Unfortunately both are no 1 ruckmen, neither can play the no 2 role effectively.

Actually Hudson was already 25 when he debuted for Adelaide and 29 when he played his first game for the Bulldogs.

Minson has just reached 26.

I do not agree that they can't play together, as they represent our best combination and was one of our strengths in 08 and 09 when both were fit.

I do not subscribe to the Leigh Brown theory as that is only really working for Collingwood, with Brown being a very experienced campaigner, who makes up for his deficiencies as a ruckman with the ability to compete around the ground.

Interesting to note in the ***** "COACHES AWARD" ******** on SEN today the only two Dogs players were Murphy [4 points] and .......................
******Minson******* [4 points]

The defence rests.

So Minson carves it up as a tap ruckman against the Pies and what do we get in Rd 7 selection? He's named at FF! Hudson, who is clearly not one of the best tap ruckmen going around (yes, I know he has other good qualities) gets picked as first ruck.

I just hope they don't run out like that. Will needs to be playing more around the ground. I don't mind if Huddo takes the back half and Minno the forward half but Minno is NOT the answer at FF.

If Will is as good as some believe, why can't he get a game ahead of Hudson?
Hudson has 2nd and 3rd efforts at the centre bounce which enables up to win more contested footy

I think Will is a better tap ruckman, and seems to have a good relationship with Cooney in that area. But Huddo is miles ahead in ground level work.

Huddo is useless at any other position aside from no, 1 ruck which is why, when both were playing, Minson was moved into the forward line.
This meant he played badly and as a result got dropped since he didn't play well in the forward line

Peter Street was a good tap ruck an as well, there there is Blake at Geelong.

How many goals did they kick? And Huddo for that matter? Although not a great forward he is infinitely better than any of the rucks you mentioned. I dare say Will is miles ahead in terms of field kicking as well.
