That would be a great outcome for us but excuse my pessimism coming from someone with 1 post who joined 36 mins ago.
Hypothetically if it happened (and we added Tomlinson as a DFA) we use the two 50s picks this draft to take best of the rest (we seem better at nailing those late picks than the...
Any goss come out of the Copeland last night? There are usually a few snippets that pop up on here after the night in relation to player movement.

Yeah you would think so. Having Noble and Richards linked to both of those clubs might actually prove handy when trying to extract 13 & Houston.

If Port are looking for a small forward they should divert from Richards to Ned McHenry. DFA now so no trade needed. Already in SA, has a lot more exposed form than Richards and same age.

If McGuane gets a bid in Rnd 1 next year and we match with multiple later picks. That counts as us taking a first round pick doesn’t it?

Well there you go. The contract must have been pretty big after all! Pick 16 probably seems about right if the trade happened on the open market I suppose. Lucky the Giants finished 5th!

Welcome to the Pies Harry.
If it doesn’t end up Tier 1 I’m wondering how many journos will walk back their articles talking about a $900k a year contract. Expecting crickets.

I actually thought Curtis Taylor had a lot of talent. Quite surprised North showed him the door. He played really well against us this year. If our list spots weren’t so tight I wouldn’t mind him as DFA. 24yo, 76 games. Think our style of game would suit him too as a tallish HF/wing. Eventually...
Will be quite interesting to see what they do. A very hard player to replace. Take him out of that team and they probably don’t win at least 1 of their finals maybe more. This is the year they also can’t really afford to be using any draft capital to replace him with something decent either...
We are assuming the name is from another club. Do we still have any inhibiting contracts on our books? Could it be us trying to tip someone out for a good pick that could be on traded? Q?

Mitch Lewis and/or Tom Lynch were the only salary dump rumours I had heard mentioned over the last month. Doubt Tigers need to move Lynch money now with all their departures.
Not sure what Lewis is on but they seem to have done ok without him, does he suit their new style? Maybe the Battle &...
Yeah 7 years at $850k seems totally unrealistic. The cynic in me thinks the media know this to be BS too but they will still trot it out to continue the narrative & discussion (outrage) about it to get more content out of it.
The story/intrigue about his decision is over so how can we keep...
Perryman chose to wear 36 at the Giants as a homage to his childhood hero Swanny. Who he also happened to dress up as at a Giants Mad Monday. Interesting.

Anyone else think we are still a sneaky chance on Stringer? Outwardly feign a lack of interest (let his management know the interest is still there but to sit on it) then see how desperate the Dons are to offload him towards the end of trade period. Only take him if cheap.
Feel like similar...
If Lynch is on the contract that has been reported the only way I’d take him (& his contract & injury history) would be if they sent him and a first (that they get in for Baker/Bolton/Rioli) in a Bowes style Cats/salary dump our way. Don’t love the contract but in effect we would be buying our...
What’s William Drew’s contract status? If Perryman does go Port is he is danger of being pushed out?
Similar mould to Perryman. Defensive mid in his mid 20s. Wonder if the former Nth Ballarat Rebel could be tempted back to Vic?

I think we are. Maybe we can’t offer him that (reported) money but we can offer more midfield opportunities than Port. So if our offer is competitive he might be keen to play in front of 70k every 2nd week. Time will tell I suppose.

Like the idea of Perryman as an UFA. Not a superstar of the game but a mature, bustling mid type we can put around ND in the middle. 129 games, 25yo with solid skills who should be coming into his prime years. No trade capital needed either which is appealing this year.
With Cumming choosing...
