I don't know how you could possibly leave Goldsack out of the votes. His forward pressure and quality touch in the first half kept us in the contest. Then to completely negate an in form gun forward in Kennedy was an incredible effort. I am sure he will feature in Bucks' coaches votes.
1. CGU would be paying upwards of 1 million dollars for the partnership. I'm sure Pert and the commercial team wouldn't have cared what colour it was.
2. The reason they have chosen green is because it is striking and catches the eye. The old black and white CGU logo on the guernsey would have...
I will never hate Mick. He won my club a premiership. It was one of the most glorious days of my life and a time i will never forget. They don't come easy and this man delivered.
All this post Malthouse stuff is cr@p i agree, but he brought us glory. What a day that was.
In no particular order:
- A good kicker or 2 in the back half. Our kick ins this season were atrocious.
- A back up ruckman
- A stronger set of assistant coaches
- No mid season dramas (Exactly like Sydney this year)
Gaff and Selwood I wouldn't neccessarily agree with. Not saying they are better players than Blair and Beams, but they are both quality footballers.
I don't think this is the best summation, as these guys will not be opposed to each other at all times. Eg Selwood will go to swan or pendles
To be fair, at the time the article went to print, our depth was looking a little shallow. We had injuries and lots of players on the list who had hardly played at all.
But credit to our coaches and recruiters, we have been able to get games/experience into guys like Sinclair, Seedsman, Paine...
So we are five rounds into the season, and I am growing more and more upbeat about our premiership credentials. It has obviously been an unusual and difficult start to the season, but surely it cannot get worse than the Carlton week. We are keeping our heads above water, and that is all we need...
This post is strange...
Heres a few names for you.
Darren Jolly
James Clement
Ben Reid
Paul Medhurst
Luke Ball
Brodie Holland
Shane Wakelin
Not the worst trading history with some guns there. And to suggest MM is a bad tactician is ridiculous. Any coach that wins a grand final has...
Re: Putting together a 4 qtr effort
Yeh i agree, on the weekend when Carlton came back, i didnt get angry or swear or anything like that, as I just knew we were going to win. Im certainly not barracking as hard as i did in 2007-09 when we were the 5-6 best team going around.
haha, that was my brother, i didnt know at the time so i thought id play it up and act like a w***er too. he is an idiot. its worrying how good the bombers are looking, surely they cant be that good. looks like the saints window is closed
Friday night we are playing our great rivals at the G for the first time since that glorious day. We will be unfurling the flag that we all cherish, surely all Collingwood people should be there for this special moment.
Then just to top it off, we can dispose of Carlton just to prove how good...
Who really cares... That was the NAB cup, the proper stuff starts soon. The most important aspect of this yr is player management and ensuring that our guns are managed throughout the season and are peaking when the whips are cracking. ie dale thomas and steele sidebottom last september
I reckon Tyson Goldsack is the ideal sub.
He is flexible, can play back or forward and play where needed.
Do you guys think many games will go by where the sub is not used at all?
I must also admit I had my reservations on his future.
Do yourself a favour and watch him extremely closely in the GF replay... Played extremely well, didnt get a million kicks, but was very smart in what he did. A quality full forward in the making.
I don't really listen to what that strange old man says anymore.
Does anybody remember his mid year article in 2010......

I would say that tony shaw could find out anything if he wanted. His nephew plays for us, hes a premiership captain and he also coached some of our players. He's got the ultimate inside knowledge
To call Wellingham a crappy outside player shows not only how little you watched Collingwood this year, but maybe how little you know about football in general.
Prior to this year I may have agreed with you, but Wellingham became an integral part of our midfield machine. He would definately...
I wasnt Anthony's biggest fan, and secondly I reckon Geoff Walsh is a gun and has obviously has had a big impact on our footy club, but I reckon his attack on Anthony was unfair. Anthony must have done something wrong
hey there keen cats fella.
im not too sure who you are, but thankx anyway, ur a champion. Yeh im pretty good at this bigfooty, im a really knowledgable footy guru, just love the game more than anything in the whole entire world.
How are you matey? its great to get some feedback on this as i...
when sharrod shredded his way through that stoppage and slot that goal in the 3rd qtr was bliss for me. at that stage i knew i would die a happy man, as i would see collingwood win a premiership that i could savour and celebrate accordingly.
Who cares what journos like Stevens think. We just won a premiership, i dont care how we did it or what we did to get there (as long as no repeat of Melb Storm). We won, everyone else lost. We shouldnt worry about what people think.
This is no doubt, the most nervous iv ever been before a game. All week iv only had one thing on my mind, and have been going through matchups and all that sort of stuff. If we can win life will be good.
