Tool of the Week. Nomination.. Doobie Marlow. Lockhart.
Graham Fruen, ex WAFL, O&M representative & Azzi medalist tried to start a conversation with Marlow. Marlow's reply, " When you are earning as much from football as I am, then you can talk to me".
Yeah. reckon Howlong might just get over the Lions this week. My guess is that either Donnan or Charlton White is going to have a very quiet day, thanks to Jay Koehler.:p
Are we talking Drew Mortlock. Ex Albury tigers ??? Cul looked to have about 15 kids running around last night. Hope they continue to develop them.
NOP. I think your observations were fairly accurate but to be fair to Culs backline, based on only one game. We will know by about round 6 just how...
NOP. Would it be fair to say that the Hume league should be much stronger than the Tallangatta league this year. Given a Culcairn side that is not rated highly by many has beaten last years TDFL top 3 . Would think the likes of Jindera, Osborne & BB would be a class above.

A few intra-clubs last night (Jindera, Culcairn) how'd they go? hows the fitness? What other praccys are about??
Culcairns intra club went well. Only a short hit out as they play Kiewa SC on tuesday. New recruits looked good.Gilson, Brown & Donnan wont play until round 1.
Shannon Gilson committed to Culcairn this week & Chow Brown still unsure as he looks likely to move to Canberra with employment. Training numbers have been low, up to 20, with Hunter, Schulz, Baker & Field setting the pace. Wizard Barber & Chad Willis havnt missed a training.
Talk is that Culcairn may have had 10 or more departures from last years seniors, so unless they sign several more there may be plenty of room for the locals. Any truth in the rumour that Walla are close to signing one M. Klemke as non playing coach
Couldnt agree more. The gap between the top & bottom sides is ridiculous, and a promotion/ relegation system would ensure more competitive football for everyone.
Was interested to see Danny Kirchens comments in Border Mail. He doesn't consider Culcairn a Premiership chance. While I'm not sure...
[quote=GRUB5;14696107]People say culcarin have no ruckmen and dont do well with their clearances. Thats not true. They won more clearances than us, rucked well, etc. Barney was terrific as their ruckman. Anywho, they used the ball so well, hit their targets 9 times outta 10, traveled in numbers...
Lions would have to be desperate to find a ruckman before clearances close. They have been getting smashed in the middle in recent weeks.
With the quality onballers they have, although most are injured at present, a good ruck would make a huge difference to their premiership chances.
Would...
Sorry K A M but I believe comments like this are whats stuffing up Bigfooty. How about some interesting thoughts on things football, and leave the personal insults & colourful language out of it.
I know my kids, & I'm sure many others, use this site for the football content and not this rubbish...
Culcairn were terrible. Logue and Murray showed nothing up forward and a lot of their name players were very ordinary. Donnan is being wasted in the ruck. New kids will need time to adjust to senior level.
Jindera were fitter, faster & better coached and it would be hard to see the lions...
Lets just say that Klemke was very humble in victory, while Ross was arrogant in defeat.
Wouldnt hurt him to look at the sportsmanship shown by Osbornes G. O'Connell after defeat. But I guess they would have to beat Osborne & I cant see that happening.
Can tell you that I don't think the cup will be heading to either Culcairn or Holbrook. Lions (I know they have injuries) look very slow & their forward line is top heavy with no small crumbers. Holbrook are not quite there & probably were lucky to finish so close.
Manny Edmunds is all class &...

If these Green boys are so bad, does it really matter if they left Walla to go to Henty. The way I see it, at least they're helping out a club that is desperate. Enjoy your footy boys.
How good was it for the league to have the Culcairn & Osborne game so close. Believe the Osbourne boys...
Fair call kangas. I was at the game & another 5 minutes would have seen Lockhart win. Cul looked slow & overused the ball again.Probably the only time I've seen Donnan & Klemke beaten. This result will certainly give other teams hope. In Culcairns defence, they did have Oates, Bosley, the...
Some of you are pretty hard to please. Klemkes record at Culcairn would now be about 24 wins / 1 loss. Not too bad . As for training once a week, I guess it all comes back to how motivated the list is to doing some extra on their own. Time will tell.
Not quite sure this is correct kangas. Was at the game & I believe culcairn led by 3 or 4 goals at end of 4th quarter. They then played a 5th, but no score was kept in this. Was a very high standard game. Both sides looked good.
Would have to agree with you. Both teams have obviously recruited very well, but word is Culcairn has suffered heavier losses through retirements & work commitments. Wasnt much between them last year.
Didnt know Gun Recruit. Has Garland no.2 crossed from Lavi.? Believe Lockhart have recruited heavily, but they were starting a long way behind last years top 3. Should make an interesting season. :thumbsu:
Does anyone know anything about Josh Trebley. It would appear that with Oates playing only a few games & smith retiring "again", he will be the lions main ruckman. Klemke says they have added much needed height to their defense, but will they be able to match the likes of Garland, Hilton...
