I would have taken the three by firsts if I was WCE. They need more than one star. But then the 2024 trade period has shown that they aren’t exactly the most strategic.

I think that’s a bit unfair. Clarko had had faults - as do all people. But he did a lot for the community and for building a good atmosphere within the club the last year or two not withstanding.
Just buy him tickets to the game. If not on sale already give him a ticketek voucher for the approximate value.
Good on you for thinking of this. I wouldn't buy my bro tickets/membership for a north game if he was silly enough to support the roos ;)
Lake doing what Lake did allowed Gibson to do what Gibson did.
Unfortunately, Sic hasn't had his own version of Lake to rely on. While Frosty had a great 2024 (and his injury cost us a crack at the big dance IMO), 12 months ago I was arguing that his inconsistency and brain fades should result...
Do they not teach how to write good in Journalism school any more? Maybe I'm just getting old, but I had to read these paras a few time to really understand what they were talking about!
As Watson, 19, confirmed there would be some “rescheduling” after he and enigmatic teammate Jack Ginnivan...
I think you've made the case for the curse-believers. Once players get out of the number they can have somwhat decent careers (not all, but many). But those who wear the number are disproportionately hampered by significant injuries.
If you can share with me the games missed due to injury vs...
Sounds like the next pre season camp will be either be over at somewhere like Harvard or in Africa working with under priviledged kids. Building a great list of boys we can be proud of both on and off the field.
It's a good point. I've wondered how slotting Mitch in will change the dynamic of what ended up being a very strong forward line last year. It would be brilliant if he could play the Gunston role so that we keep an even balance across our targets. If he becomes the #1 go to guy then we become a...
I assume that those who expect him to play regularly in 2025 expect him to leapfrog Mackenzie and Ward, let alone Hustwaite. With Day coming back and some of our defenders moving forward, it's likely they will be the only positions available.
I wouldn't want to see him as sub next year. I'd prefer only Breust and Gunston as sub where possible. Anyone not in the 22 should be playing full games at BHH to work on their weaknesses.
You're right, not every season. But generally we've finished seasons stronger than we start the next (and even than we've started that same season).
2018 - won 6 of the last 8
2019 - lost 3 of the first 5; won the last 3
2020 - lost 5 of the first 8; won last 1
2021 - lost 4 of the first 5; won...
The one unknown for me is how our new backline structures up and then settled in. Many were buoyant last year on our forward line due to some of the offseason recruitment. I had thought it would take them a good amount of time to settle. It took longer than some thought, but less than I thought...
When you look at it like that it does reinforce how ridiculous the advantage of the northern clubs is. It would be outrageous if Hodge is eligible for Brisbane next year.
Very surprised that no one so far has mentioned Sam Mitchell. This bloke has an opportunity to stamp himself as the best of the next gen coaches - if he hasn’t already. Amazing 2024. Want to see him take us to a prelim or grand final in 2025.
