As someone who watches a lot of footy from all comps I would say that EFL Div 2 is a fair way ahead of SFL div 2. Its true that Chelsea Heights, St Kilda City and St Pauls would be competitive in any comp (EFL Div 1 included) however it falls away pretty quickly from there. As far as the WRFL...
I believe their is an announcement coming on Monday with the minister to announce that C31 is going digital! Great news for those that have supported C31 and our show!! Local footy show bigger and better in 2010!

Have to agree we have moved on from last year and are keen as mustard for this season. Rye VS Sorrento next week will be a cracker. The support from sponsors has been phenomonal. Dave when you say my President are you talking about Sth Yarra or the League President?? Did I hear right on 88.3FM...
CBTV I take your points but I think you will find that the screening fees for Ch 31 aren't the problem and there wouldn't be any real cost saving if the show was reduced by half an hour. CH 31 really want the show(CEO's words) and have provided very attractive fees to make sure it is on. To have...
I'm not sure how you interpret my post as having a go at you I merely pointed out a fact which was pertinent and followed up with a comment that was relevant.
I think you will find that the contribution from clubs last year was $200 not $2000. Also the powerbrokers have even said that if the show was self funded there would still be no guarantee that it would go to air.
Despite what was said last night it remains the SFL's call as to whether the show does go ahead or not. They are concerned that AFL Victoria does not support it but as far as I am concerned they aren't prepared to lobby for it to stay. The board has the view that the show is "not core business"...
So your commenting on figures from 2006. The screening fees are significantly less now. What about last years figures or the budget from this year? How much sponsorship money will be lost without the extra coverage?
And further ...Whoever said it costs $80,000 a year is in fairyland.
The budget for this year is actually around $53,000 and there are various spin-offs from that such as DVD sales, finals series coverage and DVDs (imagine hiring the professionals to package all your grand finals, presentation...
Just a few points from what I understand (and no I am not Daryl Pitman, I am the one to his right!):
- channel 31 could not be more supportive of the show continuing, the Southern footy show is rated as one of their best and that comes from the CEO of the station
- the TV show allows the...
As the President of the club I can tell you that we have a Turf 4 game their on that day. Its a shame because we would have been hapy to host otherwise.
Wouldn't have thought it would be held there. Perhaps a phone call to the SSCC president needs to be made. Likely to be a proper game transferred there that day.
C'mon boys lets get back into it!
Things that need to be discussed:
- New coaches: Darren Hulme, Stevie Wright etc
- New players: Quite a few shifting from one div 1 club to the other!
- Who's staying/who's going?
- Anyone started training yet?
- Jason McNiece has been knocked back to be...
Knicks you are embarrasing yourself. I will give you some idea and you/others can make up there mind:
- Monday films the footy show, takes approx 6-11pm
- Types up all the goal scorers, best players for the show
- Organises most of the guests for the footy show
- During the week films Benny's...
This is when you find out if people are pi55 weak or they are willing to back up their comments. a) come forward and tell us who you are or why you made those comments b) name your club that he is not welcome at.
Benny is a volunteer who pours his own money into the SFL media coverage. Your...
