Can anyone confirm how a few ex-Clunes players have been going this year?
Brook - Harry, Chivers & Ash McArthur
Rovers - T Fev, Mark Allen, John & Jayden Hind
Talbot - Adam Smith
Royal Park - Murray Ellis
Thanks
That equals $3,600 a week for 4 players. I know that the smaller clubs wouldn't spend that on their whole side!!
Fair playing field? Me thinks not. Bring back the salary cap.
Also watched alot of Sam Miller in 2006 and you would be correct in saying that he is not the hardest player going around. Having said that, it was his first year of senior footy and he may have matured since then....
There is no doubt he has all the skills to be a very good player as his form...
Totally agree there Snail. Unless you can pick up recruits that have existing links to your club, the teams that have the most cash will remain the strongest. Country footy is in a pretty sad state at the moment IMO.
I think you'll find that AFLQ is no where near the standard of WA, SA, Vic or even NT state leagues. Sure its only a step down from AFLQ Div 1 but that step down is a significant one.
All that I know at this stage is that he will be non playing and he is from the Maryborough FC. No doubt will find out more in the coming weeks. Almost 100% that Handley will stay.:thumbsu:
Would be great to get Harry back in the black & white next year. Only thing keeping him at Brook is the coin I would suggest. ;)
Kinnersley was a very good player but I believe he has been recruited more for his leadership qualities than his on field output.
I see Clunes has entered an A Grade side this year. I know they won the A Reserve flag last year but how do you think they will go with the step up to A Grade?
Will believe it when I see it. The Brook may have contacted him and made an offer but so do a heap of other clubs at this time of the year.
If true, you could pencil in 150 goals.
I don't know Jason all that well but my mail is that he would like to finish his career at Clunes. I think he is around 30 so it would be very doubtful he would go back to Lakers before a move back to Clunes.
How has Brendan Wills from St Albans gone this season. Heard he was a gun junior that could take a great grab and was a booming kick. Can anyone confirm his form for the year. Cheers.
