Retiring Jaidyn "Life's a Gamble" Stephenson hangs em up

He would rather not play than play with Norf. That much is incontrovertible (fact, for the norf reeders)

    Geelong rorting the system

Since when was living in Geelong desirable? The place (a) stinks like oil & gas, (b) is full of packet homes that will rot faster than a bag of prawn heads in a Delhi gutter, (c) is full of shuttered factories from the glory days of government grants to beg business to move/stay there (d)...

No Oppo Supporters Non Bulldog Footy Talk - Bulldogs only - Part 5

I actually think the Cotton On one is clean. It existing well before he was traded, and if they increase it once he's down there, it's an independent decision based on the increased local exposure. The Scott ones fails one of the most basic legal principles for causation - the 'but for' test...

He's still by himself though, isn't he. Not a team guy. Needs to learn.

We should give up on Butters everyone, the Cats board will tell you Mackie has already bagged him for next year’s draft, as well as Reid.

List Mgmt. Welcome Bailey Smith - officially (and finally) traded to Geelong

No doubt a great acquisition for the Cats. He’s a very good player (not yet a great player). Most of us here have changed jobs in our lives, not sure why people get so upset about it. People used to criticise Dangerfield for his questionable disposal, he goes alright. In saying that, he still...

It’s Flea time - Cody Weightman appreciation thread

https://aus.givergy.com/CodyWeightmanArtAuction/?controller=home A lot of respect to players who walk the walk on giving to the community. That includes Petracca here too, in a tough weak for him.

Autopsy RD 22 - Exposed by the Crows

Crows were incredibly good yesterday, clearly outperformed their mean and forced us into a rushed, chaos game. We still had a serious amount of scoring shots (albeit from pretty average spots). A good test to happen in R22. If we respond, we will thank our stars for this belting.

You can see at the 0.32 mark when Tom Morris is literally making it up, looking up diagonally and speculating about the impact to Rory Lobb. This rumour, and alleged offer, looks completely fictional to me.

Lobb shines as Dogs thrash Cats at pork barrel stadium 95-48

I can't see how VDM has a greater upside than what Daniel or Macrae could give us right now at HFF - much better kicking into the 50 and less inaccuracy on goal

There is a compensation fund for exactly this purpose, provided the player can prove a career ending injury was sustained, which is clearly the case here. https://www.aflplayers.com.au/resources/injury-and-hardship-fund-handbook AFLPA, funded by the AFL as part of the collective bargaining...

Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

Not sure it's zero responsibility, it's just measured. There is responsibility, but it's based on set and agreed metrics and accountability, not death by lynching. We don't know what those metrics are, and we won't, because otherwise you end up in Malcolm Turnbull 30 opinion poll losses territory.

Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

Re WCE and how it's relevant to us. Simpson inherited that list, and took them to a flag. They held on for too long (shared culpability with the high performance team as Head Coach is an input only), holding blokes like NicNat on the list for one year too many, and then completely bottomed...

Rumour Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

Thanks. I worked at a high profile elite Australian sporting organisation for a number of years, and endured a few examples of what we are now going through. I'm not saying that I know better than anyone else here, but it has given me perspective. Well run organisations work through the...
