Re: Monfries Returns Fire
Maybe Brown can practice "comming to get him" during his September holidays. Maybe you too can use this time to practice your spelling.
The only logic I can think of that may be behind Hille missing is his consistency over previous seasons. Let's hope he can keep us his form and if he does, he surely will make next year's list.
It's actually only club members on 2 March. General Admission is on 10 March.
I'm keeping an eye on them... I'm having my buck's party that day and will hopefully be celebrating harder after a Bomber win.
Does anyone know how many tickets you can buy at once? I'm a member but probably...
Does anyone know whether club members get free entry on Friday night? I've got a home game membership without a reserved seat.
I can't believe how hard the AFL (or the club) make it to find this info. Or am I just looking in the wrong spots.
Cheers
EDIT: Found it...
There were more details on the odds in the paper and from memory, we were equal second fave for the spoon. Melbourne at $2.25 (get on!) and WCE and Essendon next at $6.00 each.
I would be annoyed if we finished bottom three or four next year, so I was a bit shocked at the odds. Probably the...
Go for it mate. Everyone who can afford it should get a membership.
There's one to suit most people - let's stick it up Collingwood and thier cushy draws.:thumbsu:
Not sure why you would select such a small portion of my quote to make a point like that.
I think Sheeds did exit graciously... he would have seen it coming eventually and just saw out his contract. Drafting and list management is a tough gig but the list trimmings were heading in the right...
I've heard the Clark story before from a very good source within the club. Also heard that Hird wanted to play one more.
What's wrong with Sheeds having a crack at Peter Jackson? The guy has been a great financial manager but he's as arrogant as anything and seems to put his two cents in...
The issue I had with the survey was there was only one place to write comments. Sure, they just want quantative data but it's hard provide specific feedback about ticketing at the Dome games, etc.
For what it's worth, this is the first year since 2002 that they haven't stuffed my membership...
I love the optimism but think being 3 games (8 points plus decent %) out from 8th spot, we are really going to be up against it.
I would think that we would have to win 6 out of our last 7 to sneak in and while that's not out of the question, it's a big ask from a young list like ours.
Time...
I think it really depends on the people you know well and which team they go for. A good mate of mine is a Blues man and he's very humble and realistic about Carlton. He's also knows his footy really well - that's probably why he's realistic. Other mates who support the Pies are normally...
I know we're not Collingwood but I think Essendon supporters need to get a bit more feral at the game. We seem to be really quiet and unless there is a real run of either good play or bad decisions.
I acknowledge that Friday night was a St Kilda home game but their supporters were far louder...
The sad thing that stills lingers around all Hawthorn supporters like a smell as bad an thier jumper looks is that they want a rivalry with Essendon so badly it's embarrassing.
Hawthorn... Essendon love beating you as much as the next the team, but in the scheme of the great, strong powerful...
I'm quite sure Orange and 3 are both owned by Hutchison Telecom, so they have been on board since 2001 I think.
I would be suprised if 3 didn't have another crack at it given the exposure they would get from sponsoring the best cricket team on earth and the best footy club on earth!:thumbsu:
I'm happy to suggest that any doubters put thier suggestions in writing to the medical and fitness staff. I have no doubt they will drop everything and take on board your noble advice, regardless of thier and your qualifications and experience.
What would Quinn know anyway, the guy has only...
Thinking of NSW and Qld players on the list, McVeigh and Dempsay could be targets. Hopefully not though.
If it's a situation where uncontracted players are only up for grabs, you would think that most clubs would stitch up contracts in advance of the clubs coming in. Not sure if the AFL...
I would have thought that it was almost a certainty also.
Rumour has it that Hird had actually accepted in princuple the idea of becoming senior coach this year but with Sheedy in a mentor position for a few years but the board backed out because they didn't want Sheedy involved.
Also, from...
There's a reason why the Australian is such a poor newspaper when it comes to footy.... the stories are crap because the journo's are crap.
I only read the Australian because it's delivered to my work and only if I can't get a hold of the Age or the Hun. Many days, the Australian sits...
Agree. While it was an odd feeling not to have traded anyone this time around, it is great that we have bitten the bullet and invested in youth instead of trading picks giving recycled players a shot.
Mind you, the trimming of the fat has been happening for a while now and we have an...
From memory, there was an Essendon v Richmond sequence in the mid 90's where the Tiges won by around 100pts then Essendon did the same to them them the next time.
Edit: I was wrong, it was a in 1997. Freo beat Essendon by 97, then Essendon beat Richmond by 93. Not quite a record
I think the current Eagles song is the best of the new crop. One of the better ones in the league and heaps better than the old one.
There was a CD released before xmas with all the team songs on it. It's not a bad listen - good for a Grand Final party.:thumbsu:
