2nd year in a row the team we play in round 1 (2008 - North Melbourne, 2009 - Port Adelaide) we dont see again in the season.
 
Don't really see it as a bad draw, it's fairly even for us I guess. Only 3 top 8 sides twice and two trips to subi is nothing out of the ordinary.

Like someone said before, if we're good enough team to make the finals (which I believe we are barring a bad case of injuries again) then we'll win as many games as we need.

Plus our record interstate over the last couple of seasons has been decent considering.

That draw isn't too bad!

Reasonable start to the year and a real chance to build some momentum.

I like playing port first up in adelaide. A good chance to catch a team on the hop interstate. I think we upset adelaide over there first up the year before last.

And from a selfish perspective, a game in Brisbane (finally!).
 
Yeah I'm a little dissapointed with the 5 home games on a sunday..
might be a tat hard to get to them for my other half :(
10 sunday games is alot...hmm

But other than that, I'm excited!
I love the fact they are playing on my b-day again..
lets hope it's a win this time! ;)

Good breaks in between games also..
lets hope 09 is a good one. :thumbsu:

It's ok I guess, but things I don't like :

Play North once again - this doesn't worry me but why does it happen nearly every year?

Sydney once again and again it's in Sydney.

Play Port Rd 1 in March and then not until 2010 (unless finals) - weird
1st match v Eagles not until rd 18 - I thought we were going to go back to play all 15 teams in first 15 weeks.
 
This draw has me leaning toward getting a membership this year...

I coach basketball on friday nights and saturday arvo, so I needed alot of Saturday night/Sunday games for it to be worth it for me... This is probably the best I will get so i just might sign up in '09!!

HI all,

I've written a tool to generate calendars for importing for any team (or all teams), with custom reminders etc.
It produces CSV and ICS (iCal) files, as well as PDF (no reminders obviously!).
It works with Outlook, iCal, Google Calendar etc etc.

Too many Sunday games. Twilight games are terrible. All our own doing. 4 terrible years is what earns you this type of draw. Make the finals and we'll see a better draw next year.

Spot on. We can whine all we like but that's the reality of it. What is interesting though is even if we play crap surely we would still poll better numbers on a Friday night than the Doggies when they're in the top 4? Just my thinking.

That said, I like getting the crap slots when we play crap. Give us something to work toward. Make the boys earn it and keep em hungry.
