I was disgusted with the negative comments in the Social Club today, particularly when it came to Gibbs. Yeah he stuffed up a few times. But when the morons get stuck into him for not tackling - when his opponent didn't even have the ball - it's atrocious. Not a single comment for some of the...
5. Gibbs - would have been out of the game at half time if he wasn't back there. Rock.
4. Simmo - ran and ran and ran and ran... 35 touches
3. Hendo - keeps getting better.
2. Scotland - cool head when it mattered.
1. Walker - How good was his touch for first game back, don't think he fumbled...
Haha - I did wonder if your name was in fact referring to the orange things!!
Did you play against Ellard in WA? (Would also explain why you haven't seen much of him). Before last year I would have agreed with you about Ellard, I didn't rate him at all in fact, but he was really good once in...
Your name being IheartCarrots it is easy to think you may not be looking at thinks objectively when it comes to Carrazzo.
You do raise some valid points re circles, but if you look at the examples you've used, they are all dynamic, explosive players and exquisite by foot. Carrazzo is not. He...
Stats lie.
What they don't show is how he kills momentum by running in circles. They don't show how his team mates find themselves out of position because he has stopped running and decided to go the other way around his opponent. They don't show how he puts team mates under pressure by...
Everybody who cheered Hendo when he was subbed can piss off. Who are we, Richmond?
The delivery to Henderson (and all forwards) was atrocious in the first half. Players would just bomb without looking. The second half when players actually lowered their eyes and looked for targets was when we...
I read a lot of not really well thought out comments on Big Footy, and this one goes right up near the top of the list.
At the time of the Brock trade, there probably wasn't anyone else available to fill that need. If Brock could get his body right, then it would probably be regarded as a good...
Needs to kick more goals, then will be considered a star. Does everything else very very well. If he does kick more goals will give the B&F a good shake this year.
Correct - and it was awesome. To be fair, Scarlett probably didn't expect Garlett to bump, but it was pretty amazing. And then he swung around and hit a team mate on the chest. He was electric against the Cats. Kicked three and set up many others (although most of his assists resulted in points...
Agree. There was one in the last quarter off the front of the pack. Unfortunately his snap slammed into the post, but it awesome to watch. And there was a passage in the third where he had nothing in front of him so he ran sideways to the way, got tripped, got back up, turned his opponent inside...
Might want to make sure you use the correct 'there' before referring to people as dumb.
I thought the backline was excellent for three quarters today, but then the flood of ball coming down in the last would have been hard for the best defence to repel. While we have many inadequacies down...
Was at the game. Yarran brilliant again, looks set for a big year. Everything Garlett touched turned to gold. Robinson showed some good composure at times. I thought Hampson did well, is holding a few more marks. Jamo pretty good game, showed some dash. Waite was good early, kicked a few, but...
I went up this year for the brissy game. Stayed in CBD/mall and got the free bus to the ground, but you could easily walk. Was a good night - became a fan of Bris Vegas that night!
Will probably head up again for the GC game.
Dear Chris, this is how you handle your delisting gracefully.
Said Brad Fisher:
"Carlton was pushing towards finals and they wanted to play who they considered to be in their best 22 and obviously I didn't fall into that. That was disappointing for me, but the club is obviously a lot bigger...
Ultimately it is the AFL Commission that ratifies these proposals. Anderson is just the middle man. Rules of the Game Committee make recommendations to Anderson, who then chooses whether to pass onto the Commission for approval. AFL Commission has all the power to say no. I reckon Fitzpatrick...
Perhaps you need to change your OP for clarity. You said 'premierships won for the state'. Regardless of the result of the Championship of Aust, each SA and Vic side were still premiers of their respective state competition.
Also, as WA teams weren't admitted to the Championship until the 70s...
After listening to Ratts in the presser, I'm not sure we will trade any ruckman, and most likely not sauce if we do. Was very complimentary about sauce's game. When asked about the 4 rucks and trades, he said the club probably will go a bit different to what everyone expects.
Isn't there a new "draft" to be introduced next year between the NAB Cup and Round 1, whereby a club can keep a rookie spot open and recruit a player of any age? If more than one club wants the same player, the team that finished lower this year gets first crack.
That's a pretty low-risk...
Walker gave a very good example in the last quarter of this. Ran around the Collingwood player for the give instead of sheparding. I think it might have been Joseph or Yarran can't remember, who had taken a few bounces and was approching 50, but Walker didn't get himself into a good position so...
Hahahaha.
They're shithouse, aren't they. My mate wrote to the club, twice, and got some crappy stock-standard response. I haven't even bothered collecting mine.
So true, we are so lazy in these situations. It's the same reason we can't get the ball out of the backline when teams bring their zone up. Blokes just stand there, going "there's someone in the space, oh well, I'll just stand here then". Need to leave the area and make space for someone else.
