Yep I'm from the old school as well where trades were critical and every option was considered 30 times before hitting submit, it often meant running a scrub or two in the final team but teams had more variety as under performing premos had to be held. Obvs a higher trade game encourages clicks...
Oliver looks like he's checked out tbh, jogging around with no interest. His clearance and stoppage work is very concerning, doesn't seem to be in an under at all. His spread is poor, disposal remains poor and his ability to outwork opponents and tags is not there. With Trac gone if he even...
At this point cash gen is basically irrelevant for most. Trade ins are either bye cover or DPP links to set the team up with flex for the run home. Which is why Dawson / Dowling types are handy.
Ideally the team should have enough links that a 23rd premo can cover every position. IE a Shai type...
If Gulden gets you an extra 60 pts this week, Serong needs to outscore him by 6 ppg in the run home to make him a better pick. I think Serong has him by 10-15 per game so I'd be going that way
Got a whole bunch of dead / semi dead guys and topped rooks, need to start cleaning them out this week.
Graham
Rogers
Richards
Clohesy
Chapman
all on notice
1 more week from Sweet to cover Grundy would have been ideal, but it is what it is. Richards is one of those frustrating good decision, poor outcome picks. Pretty annoying given the cash gen he had in him, will prob move him on next week
Fair. Given how problematic the fwds are I'd prob rather sacrifice a fwd upgrade to get D1, and run with a Wilson type at F6. Or pick off a cheapy like Shai for F6
Salem could be a trap, hasn't scored a ton for 2 yrs before the weekend and needed 32 touches and 14 marks to get this one against the easiest team for defenders. Not sure it sticks but will make a bit of money I guess if he doesn't have to be dumped for Rd 14 bye
I expect he's thinking Harrison can provide cover through the byes and maybe make 70-100K with the 99 washing through, while Richards is a dead position when cover may be required and won't be doing anything for 6 weeks
It's pretty fringe but so are most other options this week
There's worse options imo at say 370-380K next week. Tigers are about to get a bunch of troops back and be more competitive, Bolton an 85-95 performer over the last 5 yrs with DPP could help through the byes and become a nice F7/M9 option in the run home
