Blue Whale... in today's Observer Adam Hawke is quoted as saying Annett hyper-extended his knee and should be right for this week and if not for finals. The report said he was on the ground clutching his knee for some time. He has had knee problems in the past so will be interesting to see. I...
I've noticed O'Brien is in a far few of the teams you have put out there, going on the logic about JB and Peter Roberts, do you think he has played enough games this season? Or is he being putting in on reputation. I think he has only played eigh or nine games.
Cracknell has been good when you...
A few teams are holding practise matchs, what players are looking good and which teams are working well together.
I think the top five will be Heywood, Dartmoor, Tyrendarra, Westerns and Heathmere.
Bring on round.
I see Jarryd Lewis' clearance has been approved. Lots of movement with clearnaces now, it seems to be really ramping up. Interesting to see Colin Deans moving from Tyrendarra to Westerns and also that Stephen O'Brien's clearance to Heywood from Westerns has been declined twice. Any movements...
I have seen him tear apart a number of grand finals and finals. At his best he is hard to beat. He is only small but plenty of talent. Was part of the very good Coleraine side that one four grand finals from 07 to 10.
One of the outs for the Darras is Dan Andrews, huge loss for them definatley. Cavendish seemed to have a lot from near by leagues, looks like they have been working hard recruiting.
I also think its a good idea for the Sunday games but have any other clubs been offered the same thing? There are a number of clubs struggling within the league (two of which aren't those playing the Sunday games) and would benefit greatly from the increased gate a Sunday game would receive...
Adam Hawke, Josh Marnell and Hayden Dyke have all resigned with Westerns. I believe they are still looking for another assistant.
Club is disappointed to see Stevo leaving, but hope he returns in the future.
Look like retaining a lot of thier young, exciting list and announcing a number of...
I think the league needs to send a reall message to the leaders of this club that this behaviour is just unnacceptable. Surprised there are not more reports out of it, but still early stages I guess.
Likeapuma - I thought you gave BigFooty up? Good to see you back!
Some exciting games this weekend - Heathmere V. Coleraine and Westerns V. Dartmoor should both produce some good footy!
I agree. Saturday's match has all the ingredients to be a blockbuster! Hope it's a great day weather wise and it's life member and sponsors day for Westerns so there should be plenty of home ground support!
Great that footy is back this weekend. Any predictions about what will be match of the round? Who is everyone picking? Im goind Westerns over Sandford, Dartmoor over Cavendish, Coleraine over Branx/Wall and Tyrendarra over Heathmere.
Westerns will be playing Natimuk in a practice match at Heywood on Saturday. Will be a good hit out for the side, but I think they will be without O'Brien who will be playing in cricket finals, and probably a couple of others.
Premiers: Coleraine
Wooden Spooners: Sanford
League Medal: Josh Marnell or Scott Clarke (from all reports VERY impressive at intraclub match)
Biggest Improver from 10: Branxholme
Biggest Slider from 10: Dartmoor
Goal Kicker: McCrae again?
Most expensive team: Branxholme
Most under-rated player...
Anyone keen to put forward what they think the 2011 ladder will look at season's end.
I don't think the top three will change much from last year, with Tyrendarra, Coleraine and Westerns to finish in that order followed by Branxholme and Cavendish, then Dartmoor, Heathmere and Sandford.
Losing...
Whats all this talk with people having to have played senior footy to be worthy of having a beer with or posting on this thread. Seriously, some people are granted with God given talent to play a great game that we all love, others are not, doesn't mean they don't know a thing about football or...
I think he must seeing he has a clearance in from Heywood to the Darras, but the first one was denied, probably to do with Keegan wanting to speak to all the players before they are cleared. With all the numbers at the Darras as there appears to be, it will be interesting to see how many miss...
It's correct Sam Anson has moved to Portland FNC for 2011. As far as I understand he left on great terms with Westerns and is looking to play at a higher level. Should be very handy for the Tigers!
Are there any Heywood supporters out there concerned about Mal Michael playing in the E.J. Whitten Allstars game - cos there was plenty who argued about him not playing interleague. Same kinda thing don't you think.
For the record I don't think the editor of the Portland Observer is involved with PFNC, he definatley hasn't played there this or last season.
And sickening blow is used to describe hits and bumps that result in injuries in major metropolitan papers and television stations all the time, but as...
A little quiet on here at the moment.
Anyone heard were Cammarano is playing this season? I heard a whisper it could be at Casterton? Anything in this?
I think you are right. Clint is probably Portland's best player alongside James Imbi who was also absent this season. Winis should coach on and losing will only make the youngsters who have only known winning will become hungrier due to doing out in stright sets.
Does anyone think Portland can be beaten this year? South were the closet team on the ladder and Portland seemed to account for them easily looking at the scores. Is it correct Clint Lancaster could be playing for them in the coming weeks?
Is it correct Ben Nash has been cleared from Heywood to Old Collegians in Warrnambool DFNL? WHy has he left? Isn't his family pretty well involved at Heywood?
