You can't possibly believe he is the best ruckman in the league.
I not trying to be a smartass, but I'm honestly not sure he is the best ruckman in your team.
I'm very willing to listen to why he is the best ruckman in the league. But I would note that he barely played due to injury last year...
But you'd be lying I reckon if you said you weren't counting on him improving.
All those things are pretty sweet, but the expectation, surely, is that NicNat will get a lot of possessions, contested marks one day, right?
I don't disagree, but West Coast are a serious club. I wouldn't have thought 'highlights' by which I mean that quintessential marketability was that relevant since GWS and GC needed that gimmick but non-expansion clubs are surely most concerned with on field success when they are already big...
I don't know why you started this thread. You pose what is a pretty strange question that blends a question about marketability somehow with actual performance and then you crack the sads with everyone who disagrees with you.
If you are asking whether NicNat will become one of the best...
Don't get sucked into Jeff Dunne's bull crap.

He was flat out lying. Ball did not go to Arizona until after the draft
Sorry, not a free agent. You know what I mean.
He didn't want to go to any other club. But any other club could have drafted him. If Grundy or Kennedy only wanted to go to C'wood, that does not prevent someone else drafting him
But again, refusing to speak to 17 clubs is not cheating or draft tampering!!!! Show me where it says every free agent is legally compelled to speak to every club!
How so? Players are allowed to go on holidays and no players is compelled to negotiate with any club they don't want to. If Ball had of been drafted by Essendon at 28 like some were saying he might he prob would have gone there. Which rule was broken?
I didn't defend Eddie. I disagreed with him. One of my posts said that I think all clubs should share the collective wealth of the league's success. I was hoping to avoid this thread from becoming an irrational Collingwood hating thread. This thread has become about the fictions of Collingwood...
I was thinking today how problematic it is (IMHO) that Reid appears set to play forward. I reckon that gives us a top 4 midfield, a top 4 forward line, but only the 8th or 9th best backline. We have a promising but inexperienced ruckman and our best midfielders are Cadillacs, not F100s. I reckon...
I'm not certain of your point. I wish we still played games at Vic Park. In these recent years I reckon we might have been a 1 game better side if we played all our home games there.
Of course, it is a ridiculous fantasy. We'd be a poor club if we did that.
I think about this going to sleep every night

It may indeed be true. I struggle to understand it on some level. So the AFL pockets the difference? I guess that would make sense. But their stated reason is revenue right? Surely the Catters must get a healthy slice of that
No, probably not. But, again, it's not our home game is it? It's still an away game, interstate. People are telling us we don't travel and it sounds like you might be insinuating that playing at ANZ stadium doesn't count as travel
That's where you lose me. The idea that a powerful club like Geelong has no choice but to accept a massive financial disadvantage because of some 9/11 style conspiracy theory just doesn't hold a lot of water for me.
That's not what I am saying. I think you see the point though. There are no threads about the Melbourne FC conspiracy of not playing enough games interstate. I do count Hawthorn. It's the clubs choice to play those games and they make money from it. This has become a Collingwood conspiracy...
Then the Cats should definitely do that. I don't actually know for sure, but that doesn't sound right. You get "the gate" as they say for a Pies v Cats home game. So you get more "gate" with a third of the fans? May I ask why the situation persists if what you are saying is true?
I am going to respond to this as positively as I can so as to save this important thread from ending in the Bay. Everything you say here is an oversimplification.
1. It's not like we are being awarded 17 home games. Some other teams have home games at the G too. Seriously though, we have a...
I respectively submit that you can not be these things if you are a Premiership captain. Whether you like him or not or rate him as a player of not he has reached the absolute pinnacle of our sport
