monash gryphons 13 12 90 v mount lilydale 11 8 74
monash gryphons 9 13 67 v swinburne university 7 5 47
right margin in the seniors (a**e) but nowhere near the scores & in the reserves i didnt even rate!! **laugh**
anyway, congratulations to the monash gryphons football club on...
$5 car & $12 person for the division 2 grand finals on sunday.
i reckon those driving from the south should gain "free entry" as this equates to (about) a quarter of a tank of petrol & itll take a full one just to drive up there!!
i myself am coming from carrum... 82 kms away!!
i stand corrected, thank you bromanbomber.
i turned up deep into the final quarter, saw the scoreboard & assumed the monash gryphons were in front for the entire game & that there was never anything in it from the start.
one of the best finishes to a game of amateur football ive ever...
good luck to the monash gryphons seniors as they vie for their first ever vafa premiership.
& also to the monash gryphons reserves as they have another crack at the big one.
i remember being at jack barker reserve in cheltenham in 2006 for the bentleigh v south melbourne districts d3...
whoever ends up playing this mob first up may well be given a "what for" & receive a 35 goal "pull your pants down".
they will be facing a club that has "double dropped" & as a consequence will be a tad annoyed!! ;)
if this DOES come to fruition, i wonder if ray carroll, the legendary coach of the all-conquering assumption college first xviii teams, will be in charge.
as far as im aware, hes STILL there producing afl superstars at the "football factory" & hes well into his 70s!!
the last quarter went to 31 minutes & the other 3 went to 28 minutes so even if there WASNT a hold up in play, the old paradians wouldve STILL ran out of time, i believe.
anyway, dont worry about it too much brother as your club is playing division 1 footy in 2011 by virtue of your seniors...
congratulations to the lads today on the slop which was the coburg city oval... bentleigh 6 11 47 v old paradians 5 5 35.
now to the grand final next SUNDAY, 12/09/10 against banyule starting 11:55am at highgate reserve, craigieburn.
CRAIGIEBURN??? where the f**k is CRAIGIEBURN???
we dont care WHERE the game is played & what its history is... all we want to do is win the preliminary final & progress through to the final week of the division 2 reserves season for a chance to defend our title. i can vouch for this as training was pretty damn sharp tuesday evening in the...
lets stop all this blabber about ground availability, muddy centres, cricket wickets & start talking about which two teams are going to meet banyule in both grand finals on september 11.
glen eira because theyre hard at it (as witnessed when we played them) & from what ive heard & read here...
fair enough, brother.
i guess we'll both have to wait & see whats decided by our head honchos after the 2s finals assault ends NEXT weekend with victory... ;)
gday to all for the first time in this forum this preseason!!
looking forward to adding comments, getting involved in group discussions & talking about all things relating to d2 football.
i trust all clubs are in full swing with a few sessions before the end of year so good luck to all!!
thanks, griff. thats been our problem this year - 25 blokes are missing out weekly so the club xviii wouldve filled the void perfectly.
if we'd known we were going to have an overflow of players at the preseason stage, no doubt we wouldve ended up playing against your crew!! ;)
thats...
box hill north v richmond central... 38 points

other teams take note: the powerhouse giant has awoken!! we were smashed saturday by a fiercer, stronger opponent who wanted nothing more than to go & grab the hard ball... deserved victors.
west brunswick better bring their 'a' game to the "lake" this week...
is round 5 now going to be forever remembered as "the matches of massacre" ... +2??
i guess a round like this is unprecendented in ANY competition of australian rules football.
surely this division isnt THAT lop-sided & its just bad scheduling by those at league headquarters...
**laugh** i LOVE the bentleigh football club, brother - i just believe were due for a loss & this might happen saturday.
but of course, the lads may prove me wrong yet again & win handsomely once more!! ;)
