Never thought I would say this but hope Darley wins.
Time to put a big dent in the North corporation... Our blokes beat them three out of four times this year but not when it really mattered... Ah such is life.
Will have to be content with a fourth reserves premiership in a row.. And good on...
Umpires are always to blame when a side loses. Most free kicks are awarded to the player who is in front and playing the ball.
It happened yesterday at the North v Redan under 18 game where Redan got crucified by the umpires _ BECAUSE North was leading them to the ball. Redan lost...
Never say never - especially when it involves Redan. Traditionally the winner comes from the top three and it is a tough ask to win it from fourth but with three to come in and a dry deck who knows what may happen.
However there will be some heavy legs after the tough game against Darley on...
Redan also has Ryall, Kane and Chester to come in (two talls and a utility)
East fought back in 2nd quarter but couldn't put it on the board.
Good start from Redan but will use the next game against Lakers at City Oval as a bit more of a measuring stick. One game doesn't make a season.
good goal kicker. famously kicked a goal from a long way out after the siren to get redan into a grand final _ and then was dropped for the granny (2006?) if i remember correctly. good bloke to have around the club from all accounts.
I agree. Edwards even said so himself in his speech at the count yesterday. But, for those who may have forgotten, this is what it is all about in the end:

Who cares about Edwards' VFL form (or lack of it?)
Last time I looked he had been playing BFL for years, continuing to whip all comers _ as he will do again next year.
No-one at Redan seems to have noticed he was a "crap" VFL player. Guess he will have to console himself with three...
For those out of the area, this is from The Courier website this morning.
BALLARAT FOOTBALL LEAGUE
GRAND FINALS at Eastern Oval
FOOTBALL
SENIORS
Redan has captured the BFL senior football premiership with an emphatic 43-point win against East Point this afternoon. The win caps off an...
East was competitive for three quarters. After 7 goals to zip in the first quarter it was 6 goals each for the rest of the day.
East's best player IMHO was number 24 Jennings in the backline.
For years Edwards has taken punishment from opposition players trying to stop him. He expects it and has very rarely shown anything other than a completely professional approach to what he does every week (hence 4 Hendersons).
Bamwell, a very good player, must have got under his guard...
Redan won by 20 pts after a very tight game all day. No more than a goal in it up until 3/4 time. Lakers could only manage a point in the last.
Redan doesnt like to lose grand finals (won 4 lost 1 in past 10 years) so will be keen for number 5 but East will be red hot to get some silverware for...
Sure the grounds are muddy. So what. It's a winter sport.
Admittedly, the 10 year drought has meant that many players have never really played in those conditions.
City Oval on Thursday looked great. Even after the weekend there is still only the patch of really badly chopped up surface at CHF...
Heard Redan has reappointed Peace as coach for next year.
No reason why they wouldn't.
Well done this year _ so far.
All three footy teams still in the running into the second week of finals is a great result.
Thanks for clearing that up for me: I didnt know which league they played in.
You are right: it does make sense and might actually work better for the club.
In all this debate about Gisborne, I haven't seen anywhere where it says what will happen to their juniors. (I assume they would have a junior arm to the club.)
I see three teams of football (I suppose senior reserve U18) and two of netball (senior and reserve) being talked about.
Are their...
Re: Ballarat Football League 2009 mk II
East lost because Redan played far, better wet weather football. Might have been a different story in the dry. Even with DJ the result wouldnt have been much different yesterday as it was hardly in the East forward area all day. Top marks to Sam...
As it turns out you were right. Sunbury couldn't get into the game at all after a reasonably even first half.
Sunbury was certainly still in it at half time and were only four goals down at three-quarter. Six goals to zip in the last made it a bit of a blow-out.
Damien Horbury was best man on...
I have to agree with this post except I am a displaced Tasmanian and former South Launceston member currently shivering my **** off in Ballarat! Mind you my adopted team Redan had a good 10-goal win over arch rival Sunbury yesterday. Makes it all worthwhile!! Keep up the good work. Can someone...
Redan will miss Sam Giblett following one of the strangest reports I have ever seen on a football field.
Also the midfield is going to have to work extra hard as Sunbury will have the edge in the ruck plus Redan's small forwards will have to have a bit of luck go their way to rack up enough...
The last quarter fade-out agains Brisbane was concerning. We won't get away with that against the Saints. I like the idea of Kruz at CHF but our ruckmen are not very experienced as it is. No good putting a part-timer in there for this game.
