Hey people
If any of the old CDL clubs are interested I am happy to provide grappling training sessions for clubs. I hung around the CDL competition for a long time and also have a fair bit of experience in grappling.
I'm interested in developing my coaching and might be able to provide...
Did anybody else see the full page ad in the the Canberra Times recognising the 50th anniversary of the ANU footy club. Was quite a spiffy page, looked very good.
Well done ANU, never thought I would say that.
Still areas to work on though, maybe one day all your players will wear the same...
I din't mean to be disrespectful to Sexyama he is an entertaining fighter. But that match up and his stated game plan of banging it out with Vitor certainly had an air of inevitability (sp) about it.
He should use his Judo more IMO.
I couldn't bring myself to part with the cash to order this one. Then couldn't be bothered avoiding the results. Akiyama and Belfort must be about the most predictable ending since Couture and Toney.
Hi man
I am in Canberra and train at EPIC BJJ which is part of the Machado organisation. I do no gi grappling 2-3 times a week and gi stuff twice a week.
I also do as many boxing and MMA sessions as I can each week.
Whole heartedly agree agree about grappling in gloves, it makes a big...
First was in Canberra on Brace for War and second in Wollongong for the Proving Ground promotion.
I was interested to know if any had tips/drills about blending the phases of MMA together.
Sparring at full tilt can be difficult in terms of people getting injured etc but it is hard to...
I have had 2 matches now. 1 win and 1 draw.
Without wanting to sound up myself I think I am a reasonable striker and reasonable grappler but I am still having some problems integrating the whole thing. Most dissapointingly I have given up some good positions on the ground by getting the red...
From memory in 1997 there was a generic 'Defence' team rather than ADFA/RMC.
Back when I started Kingston were winning everything in both grades.
Uni of Canberra used to have a team as well. I'm colour blind and even I remeber that they had ordinary jumpers.
This season sucks. I reckon it is time for another come back season.
Some names could be Phil Baroni, Karo Parisyan, Falinko Vitale, Babalu, Travis Wiuff, Van Arsdale, Tiki, Rizzo, Monson, Jardine, Prangley, Rodriguez.
Probably no future champs but the fights would be stacks better.
My brother is a cadet at RMC. He is always away, I really don't think they would be able to field a team with current curriculum. There may be complications in having RMC cadets cleared to play for a civvy club.
I saw the first half of the Hawks and Pies in the 3's.
To me it looked like Tuggies had more run and more ball early but were not capitalising as much as they could have done. They looked fit and willing but maybe could have straightened up a bit, they probably should have been further up...
Totally agree, the BJJ of Maia and Jacare is far superior to Shileds. Shields has been horribly over hyped by the UFC and this match has the potential to be a complete snooze fest.
I think it will play out similar to to the GSP v Koschek fight but I am hoping GSP might ramp it up a bit a hunt...
Thanks mate... I wouldn't do that.
The former heavyweight you mentioned would be close to weighing in at welter weight these days. He is fading away to nothing but a handsome shadow.
Good to see some chatter in the lead up to the season. I plan to watch a few games while having a beer or two this year. I'm sure my insightful banter will be appreciated by all.
