TUF 13: Lesnar vs JDS

Agree on Len. After all his talk in the house I was expecting a big argument between he and Brock, but he bitched out and just sulked through the training session instead. I'm glad he didn't get a second chance after seeing that and would be rooting hard against him if he did get one in the future.

Apart from all of Len's carry on, it was a good episode. Junior winning the coaches challenge was surprising and him sharing the wealth around with everyone else except Brock was priceless. You could tell he was a class act the way he'd been interacting with his fighters, but this proved it once and for all. I was a fan before the show, but I'm much more of one after. Also goes a long way to proving how good of an athlete he is.... Brock's testing at the NFL combine a few years back was incredible for a guy his size and Junior was just about stride for stride with him in the running and agility portions.

The wildcard fight wasn't the best to be honest. Didn't think Javier deserved a second chance, but I guess with Randy Jr being suspended and Len being injured and a whiny bitch they didn't have much choice. Chuck going through was a decent result and the D'Arce finish was pretty sweet.

QF matchups are interesting. For mine, I think Stripper Ramsey is a good bet to take the title this season. Shamar looks to have great top control, but didn't show much else against a guy who was clearly overmatched on the ground, while Ramsey completely broke Charlie in his fight and looked fantastic. I'll likely be rooting for Ryan to win though as he showed a lot of heart in his fight with Len.

I'm always amazed at how bad the striking is on this show. I realise most of the top strikers are either in kickboxing/boxing/muay thai or thrust straight into the big leagues, but man, everyone looks terrible.

It wasn't surprising that Dos Santos beat Lesnar seeing as Brock is clearly terrible with a ball in hand and a great deal larger. He looked pretty comfortably ahead to me after the first section.

How did they get that decision from the last fight? Should have been a third round.

Both weren't interested in winning the fight but really, can you win a fight with soft hammer fists while against the fence?

I was OK with the decision to be honest. Neither guy really did much, but the most effective aspect of the fight was Cope's defensive wrestling. Shamar couldn't get him to the ground and got reversed when against the cage pretty much every time. Given that the striking (or lack of) was pretty much a wash, that tips it in favour of Chris for me.

Stripper Ramsey looked great again in his QF, although Clay didn't look too good coming back off that nasty finger injury.

WOW... Spoilers >> Zack detaching both retinas is freaking ridiculous. Tough fighter, who looked pretty sleek on the ground. Shame it's over before it really ever got started for him.

Tony's uppercut was clean and it clearly knocked Ryan's senses out. I like Ryan but I get the feeling he is a jack of all trades, but probably not a good enough Jack to get by.

The shit after the fights was completely out of line. Tony really acted like a tool and if Chuck doesn't beat him I will be severely disappointed

This season sucks. I reckon it is time for another come back season.

Some names could be Phil Baroni, Karo Parisyan, Falinko Vitale, Babalu, Travis Wiuff, Van Arsdale, Tiki, Rizzo, Monson, Jardine, Prangley, Rodriguez.

Probably no future champs but the fights would be stacks better.

I thought Zack's fighting style was asking for his face to be whacked. He hunched forward with his face poking out like a hunchback, it was painful watching (more for him!). I realise he was going for the takedown but it was hopeless against a fierce striking opponent. Have to question the advice he was given.

No matter if he wins the tournament or not Chuck O'Neill is going to do well. Dana is a big fan of his and that bodes well for him in the future.

That will help him, but his performance in the semi-final fight was very poor.

I think Stripper Ramsay has got this season in the bag.

TUF Finale predictions (spoiler tags used in case anyone hasn't seen the semi's yet:

Main card

Welterweight bout:
Ramsey Nijem vs. Tony Ferguson -
Was on Ramsey's bandwagon early and will be supporting him in this fight, but I think Tony might take the win. Nijem looked pretty sloppy on his feet against Cope, while Ferguson looked brilliant in picking Chuck apart. The fight will come down to Ramsey's wrestling.... if he can take Tony down, I think he wins, but if it stays on the feet I favour Tony.

Lightweight bout: Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis - Tough fight to pick and a tough fight to work out who to root for. This should be an absolute war with both guys having their moments, but I think Clay's relentless attack will eventually wear on Showtime just enough to take a narrow decision.

Middleweight bout: Ed Herman vs. Tim Credeur - Both guys have been out for so long that it's difficult to make a pick. Herman's opponents in the UFC have been of a higher quality and I think his wrestling is good enough to keep this on the feet where he should have an advantage. Cedeur is tough though, so I think this ends in a close decision for Ed.

Light Heavyweight bout: Kyle Kingsbury vs. Fabio Maldonado - Kingsbury looked fantastic last time out against Romero and I think he'll pick up a win here. Maldonado, despite a KO win against McSweeney (which not a day has gone past that I haven't thanked him for :D) didn't look fantastic. Kyle by late TKO.

Welterweight bout:
Chuck O'Neil vs. Chris Cope - Chuck takes this I reckon. Cope showed a good chin and some stellar take down defense, but not a lot else on the show. Chuck should be able to stay busy and take a wide decision.

Preliminary card

Lightweight bout: Jeremy Stephens vs. Danny Downes - Hoping Stephens is able to catch Danny with something as he's a chance to be outwrestled in this one. He's got 15 minutes to do it and I think he eventually lands flush and puts Downes down.

Featherweight bout: Josh Grispi vs. George Roop - Grispi didn't make the best impression in his debut against Poirier, but I think he'll be too good for Roop. Sub in the first.

Welterweight bout:
Ryan McGillivray vs. Shamar Bailey - Rooting for Ryan, but think Shamar's wrestling will be too much for him. Wide decision win.

Welterweight bout:
Clay Harvison vs. Justin Edwards - Like both these guys from the show, but again think that wrestling will be the main factor in this one. Edwards to pick up a late TKO or sub.

Bantamweight bout: Scott Jorgensen vs. Ken Stone - Jorgensen to get back on track via TKO.

Bantamweight bout: Reuben Duran vs. Francisco Rivera - No idea.

Will it be on GO! or another FTA channel at a late time?

The only time slot I've seen it in so far is midnight Sunday (ending at 3am Monday morning) on Go. Fuel do have a habit of not listing live UFC events until late in the week, so hopefully they have it live.

The prelims begin streaming from 8:30am as well.

I've hardly watched any of the fights from TUF this season so I'm not really familiar with the majority of them. I'll pick Ferguson by TKO, Pettis by decision, Credeur by TKO, Kingsbury by TKO, O'Neil by decision, Stephens by TKO, Grispi by sub and Jorgensen by sub, no idea on the other three prelims but I'll go Duran, Bailey and Edwards.

I think Ramsey takes Tony down, dominates him on the ground and wins by TKO or sub. Tony's clearly a boxer and doesn't move like a mixed martial artist. Unless he's significantly changed his stance and improved his grappling since the semi finals I see this fight as Ramsey's to lose.

Tony's also an arseh*le and Ramsey's a top bloke.

Tough to pick out of Pettis and Guida. Both guys bring it and are love by the fans but I think Guida will outwork Pettis for a decision.

Pettis is capable of some truly ridiculous things  :D

Don't understand the crowds love for Guida, lay n pray if I ever saw it.
Disappointed that Tony won, but can't really see any of this seasons cast going very far at all.

That wasn't lay n pray. Guida was constantly working for better positions. Pettis is so good off his back that Guida wasn't able to pull off a submission or ground n pound. Guida had to defend wrist control, triangles, arm bars and reversals the whole time it was on the ground.

Guida deserves a title shot soon. Jim Miller gets the next shot if he beats Henderson but Guida would be after Miller.

I'd rather watch Fitch than Guida. Guida's illusion of activity is far more annoying. And I'm not just talking about this morning's fight, where Pettis was very good off his back (and did more I thought), Guida does it every fight.

Please, Guida was aiming to get him down and keep him there. As RR said, he does enough to make it look like he's advancing position but in reality he was just maintaining control.
I think Pettis is a bit of a tool but I was rooting for him by the end of the 1st.

Guida finished his last 3 fights before Pettis, Fitch hasnt stopped anyone in 4 years!

I'm a fan of both Guida and Pettis so I wanted to see a war but it was pretty lacklustre, I did have Guida winning according to the rules atm. Pettis went for subs but he didnt land any except for a armbar attempt that Guida easily rolled out of. Pettis needs better TD defence before he is ready to challenging Edgar/Maynard.
