In relation to Bont's estimated six weeks out of action, does the six weeks commence when he is first diagnosed as having an injury, from when Opening Round begins or from when we play our first game the following week?

    Sliding doors moments/games

From a statistical point of view, World War II. Imagine how greater Bradman's record could have been with six extra years of Test cricket. Even thought there were not as many Tests played back then, it is conceivable Bradman could have been the first batter to reach 10,000 Test runs and 40...

Is anybody familiar with French culture and customs? In 2011, Tina Arena became the first Australian to be awarded a knighthood of the French National Order of National Merit. Is this award the same as a British damehood? In France would Arena be referred to as Dame Tina?

FTA-TV Ads that piss you off (3)

This ad doesn't piss me off but in the Industry Super ad with the two elderly women practicing golf, does anyone else think the golf balls are computer-generated? The women's golf swings are so uncoordinated and crooked, there is no way those are real balls flying off the tees.

I have found I can skip any ad on YouTube. When I click on the clip I want to view and an ad begins playing, I then click immediately on any one of the smaller clips displayed which run down the right hand side. Then I instantly click on the Back arrow and the clip I originally wanted will play.

After the siren kick to win the grand final

Not a goal to potentially win a grand final but in 1981 country legend Ron Best was playing for Boort against Wycheproof-Narraport in the North Central grand final. He had a shot for goal on the siren to try to notch up his 100th for the season and managed to kick truly.

I realise there is probably a level of pantomime in the way she behaved, but Danielle Collins could have perhaps turned things around at her press conference. When she spoke about her pay cheque, she should have then said immediately, "When I donate my pay cheque to the Los Angeles fires, let's...

Even though streakers can be annoying, I like the way this guy has the presence of mind to cover his wobbly bits while he is being tackled (no pun intended) by Rod Marsh. I wonder whether the other England batter out there was Peter Willey (pun intended).

I think Geelong of 1932 is the only instance of the team with the best percentage missing the finals. The Cats finished in fifth position with a percentage of 139.7, the next best being 139.2 by Richmond in second place. Geelong won 11 games and had a draw from 18 home and away games that season.

Casual mentions of Australia in films

Today when I went into my kitchen to make lunch I could hear the TV on in the adjoining room. I heard a song begin to play and figured there must be a musical on telly. Best sledge ever. Nominations.

This is the only time I have heard somebody sledge themselves: One day during my junior cricket days, we were playing a game at a local oval that had a milk bar across the road. Best sledge ever. Nominations.

This is not really a sledge, more of a smart-arse comment: One day many years ago I turned up for cricket practice and the guys who brought all the club's cricket gear with them hadn't turned up yet.
