Interested to note that Fev's Manager ( Olarenshaw ) stated that the interest came from a Melbourne Club he didnt expect.
Would have thought that ruled Melbourne, St Kild or the Bulldogs out?
Fourthed!
Champion Player, Champion Captain
Blessed to have players representing Mind Body & Spirit down there:
Mind - Mitch
Body - Browny
Spirit - Hodge
I agree that it was significant, as was this game in general.
For mine, it's as though this game fully deflated the team. Against Melbourne we were OK, against Geelong we were great, and played some fantastic footy, almost taking the 4 points. For the first half against the Doggies, we...
With the injury curse that continues to haunt the Hawks I am glad we didnt get Maguire.
Can you imagine the threads when he finally did go down like your Gibsons, your Sewells, your Taylors, your Burgoynes, your Baileys, your .......
I have been giving this a lot of thought throughout the first 4 rounds ....
While I am frustrated that the footy gods appear to be punishing the Hawks for all the good luck cashed in during 08, I keep asking myself these 2 key questions :
Am I happy that I experienced such a memorable GF win...
Shane Crawford, then daylight for me as well.
I would also have Lekkas up there on the pointy end of the list. I personally think he was more than serviceable over a long period of time.
Another notable fmention rom the early part of the decade, Tony Woods
My wife & I are involved in a Smith Family Child Sponsorship program.
Essentially it involves the sponsor of a child whose parents can't afford their school fees etc etc.
Perhaps the Club could investigation such a program to see if it crosses over into Club Memberships?
I know we had the...
I think it's a great idea and has some merit.
My wife & I would seriously consider supporting such a proposal
Seriously, President Jeff always states that we are more than welcome to email him with suggestions!! Is someone gonna do it?
Good Call Hawk88 !!
Seriously, some of you need to take a break & calm down.
Just remember, approx 26? Premiership games ago we were Premiers.
I can remember too many people abusing the club for the recruitment strategy that got us there!
Faith people ....... faith .........
Regarding the jumper .....
I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple of future NAB Cup, or even premiership point games in NZ in order to support the venture! Wouldnt even surprise me to see the Hawks wear the black jumper while there ..
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/collingwoods-shannon-cox-loses-hunger-for-footy/story-e6frf9jf-1225796817777?from=public_rss
COLLINGWOOD defender Shannon Cox has retired after telling the club he no longer had the hunger to play in the AFL.
Cox, 23, informed the club of his decision...
Wasnt too surprised to hear Patrick having a go at the Club for 'using' Kokoda for it's own purposes. This bloke would argue that the sky was blue if it was the alternative view.
With his thoughts on the Hawks & Kokoda, I wonder how he feels about the Heritage Round, Indigenous Round, Womens...
Great work Crazyhawk !! Your a champ :thumbsu:
Was hoping to somehow find some footage of his retirement speech ....
I think I will play this one to the wife. Although her family upbringing determined that she wasnt a Hawk, she is slowly coming around.
I don't want to make light of it but...
Fair point MinerBoy. Still not convinced that he is better than some of our current 'kids' that could be given game time, however you are definately correct about us not having our best 25 available!
When is this all going to end?
Everyday there appears to be a new Trent Croad article in the 'online' news. Further inspection always reveals it to be the same old stuff. A word changed here & there!
Over it!
Perhaps if Trent retired then we could move onto more speculations?
I can see...
Re: 1st to 3rd players resume training 19th Oct.
Cant wait for the papers to run a story on this !!
"Hawthorn boot studder rolled his ankle on pair of boots in change rooms. Unlikely to stud again says [insert doctors name not involved in club]
Its hard to get my head around the fact that it was only 22 Premiership games ago that Dewie & Willo weaved their magic in that classic third quarter. SO much has changed ......................
I urge anyone, who seriously considers this an option, to have a bash at listing their first 22 + 3 emergency's for next season.
NOW ........... if you AREN'T already struggling to fit everyone of note in, then I will be surprised!!
Re: Walking away(Article) Big BoB
A great read and a great bloke!
Certainly someone of value around the club going forward!
Would love to have seen his speech at the B&F. The club could do worse than include it into any structure rolled out for new players ......
