Nice to hear fringe players stepping up while the overall standard was far better than previous years. Don't mind K. Dawson as a player so good to hear he played well. I think he's one of those serviceable, depth types that every team needs.

I've currently got a sealed box of every release from the 1992/ 93 season (Shaq's rookie year). 17 boxes in total I think. Also have a box 1989-90 Hoops (The Admirals rookie year), 1990-91 Fleer and 1991-92 Fleer. When these were released, they were unsealed, no plastic wrapping on the outside...

My biggest knock against Jy is that he is the best runner in our team yet there's too many times he chooses not to chase his opponent or apply pressure. It burnt us on several occasions last season. Yet, this in my mind, should be a non-negotiable you would expect from your Captain.

Well it just so happens I took a few weeks break from Big Footy over Christmas and New Year and after reading through this thread and others, I'm super glad I did! At the same time, I deeply regret wasting my time on catching up on what I've missed out on.

Most of the second half of last season, we played both Pink and Teakle forward. I doubt Darling replaces both and I think Teakle is the better of the two. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Teakle kicked 9 goals from 11 games last season. Extrapolate that out over a whole season and it's 20 goals which is basically what we're hoping to get out of Darling except Teakle is 8 years younger and has more scope for improvement.

Bit rough on Teakle. Like Duckyeah, I see potential in him in that FWD/ RUCK role. Has only played 17 career games at AFL level. Took 15 Contested Marks in 11 games last season, averaged nearly a goal per game and got burnt by his team mates on numerous occasions when he was clearly the best...

Like I replied to Duckyeah, based on your team, if Comben goes into the Ruck, we are left with 2 undersized key defenders. From a team balance perspective, I don't think it works. Not sure what you have against Teakle but you have to remember he's only played a handful of games so there's scope...
