I agree that he dropped the ball in the lead up to 2023 season. The issues around Acres and Logue I believe to be a direct result of Bell’s negotiations. The two players alone aren’t that big a deal but when you factor in Lobb, Meek and Tucker it makes for real depth issues being tested.
With...
Too early for Gerryn. He is borderline pick 40 region. A few clubs may bite off a bit earlier.
If we were able to pick off Carlton’s selection 38 should Camporeale be bid just before with the slight movement back of 38 would be around the sweet spot for him.
I reckon we select highest on our...
Still doesn’t make a lot of sense. We have not participated in 2 of the past 3 MSD. There is no guarantee that we will. What if Narkle injures himself in the weeks leading up to MSD.
So he is removing himself from the best option of getting on another list so that on a small chance we could...
Then how do you explain him not nominating for the National Draft. He is eliminating himself from one of the primary sources of getting onto a list. If he wasn’t locked into a SSP rookie spot then he would have nominated for ND. There are bugger all actual picks in the rookie draft these days...
We can always trade futures in 2025 to get more picks in the 2025 ND. At the moment we have no idea where Whan or other NGO are forecast to land. So best dealing with what we current have/need.
I wouldn’t be giving up our Richmond F3 lightly though as that will be a good pick.
If the...
Narkle hasn’t nominated for ND so he is a lock for SSP rookie. Carr is certainly on the ND nomination list and appears we are considering him with our third pick.
Yes he looks good but won’t last till our final pick around late 50’s. We’d need to upgrade to an earlier pick.
The Carlton pick 38 is an interesting one. There is a decent chance Camporeale is bid just before that pick.
Not sure if we need to upgrade Worner prior to ND. If not, we can go into...
Harrison Oliver and Angus Clark fit this description. Oliver seems to fall in most experts around 25-30. Clark just after. We may need to consider upgrading using a Future pick to make sure we get one of those. Neither fall in the range near our first pick.
I post on bigfooty between sets. Home PC is manipulated by my gaming teenage son, who thankfully is starting to decide he wants to look a bit more like your mates above and eat protein, lift weights and nail down Creatine.
I also recommend Tongkat Ali as a supplement for what it’s worth.
A club around 13-16 (after bids) just before our pick will get good value and likely first dibs at the best 1-2 talls in the draft at that range. I’d expect Richmond to have a look at their pick that falls in this range as well as Port. It will likely mean a sliding mid or someone like Berry...
Still certain he’ll kick off from reserves but he may well be fast tracked to league and who knows from there. Seems to be in a battle for the last Cat-B spot with Eoin McElholm. Kelm turns 25 on 14 December 2024.
He needs to play some WAFL before we make any comments. Personally I’ve never seen him kick an Aussie rules ball and I certainly haven’t seen him play a game of Aussie Rules. He’ll likely start in the WAFL reserves and progress from there.
I’d expect one of the following to slip through to 17:
Lindsay, Hotton, Berry, Allan, Hynes
For what it’s worth I like Hotton and feel he could slide with his injury.
There is also Odin Jones who projects more as a developing KPF.
With each of Tabs, Kuek and Corbett out the door then makes sense to add a medium to tall forward at the draft. We did add both Voss and Jones at the last draft so not a priority but an area of need for us. We are definitely well...
I don’t have any ITK, but from my perspective it had a feel about it that it wasn’t a decision Bell initiated. Special Operations…
Love Bell and has given his all for this club in all positions. Personally, it is quite obvious that the club felt it was best served having a new General Manager...
He had a nasty knee injury and underwent surgery in Dec. It didn’t surprise me he was a bit slow to get going. The same surgery I had took me a good 6months to be close to 100%.
A full pre-season for Sturt and I’d expect he can go to another level.
Max no. of cat-a rookies is where you’re a little out.
Current rookies:
Reidy, Voss, Sharp, Jones, Worner (5)
Knobel to be added makes 6.
Worner served his max 3 years on rookie list (2022,2023,2024). So under contract he is upgraded to primary list.
That opens up spot for SSP rookie Narkle...
Just posted that as well on another thread. I re-read his Jaren Carr post and he said Freo are considering him for a list spot with their third and final selection at the draft. The selection will depend on who else is available at that pick.
