Anyone care to predict who will be the leading goalkicker this year??
I think it will be Ben Van Kraanen (Hutchins) vs Adrian Burdon ( St Virgils)
Just got off the phone to a close source of BVK's and he predicts a healthy return of between 85-90 goals this year. He believes that with the...
I know they are yet to win a senior game in the OSFA, so not sure when their last win was in the SFL.
I believe channel have gone 2 years without a win in the OSFA ('09, '10) and before that went 1 season without a win in the SFL ('08). So I suspect their last win was in 2007?
Are You still Johnny Drama's Agent Ari? haha
Surely someone has something interesting to say on here. The season is not too far away. Does anyone wish to predict the ladder?
Ill have a crack.
1. Richmond
2. Hutchins
3. OHA
4. St Virgils/UNI
6. DOSA
7. CHANNEL
I think it will be another...
Just heard today (from the man himself) that TSL reserves leading goal kicker Ben "****" Van Kraanen has signed on to play for Hutchins for an undisclosed amount. Other North Hobart boys who may be following him include Michael Hall, Andrew Palmer and Josh Chaplin. Looks like the lions have...
All you di*kheads have no idea how the uni footy club operates.. Stop talking absolute shit! goodluck to both hutchins and the saints this week, both clubs deserve their grand final spot.. don't EVER slag off a club if your not personally involved in the inside running of that club, otherwise...
sautner.. what exactually do you know about how much money Uni spend on players?? my guess is you know sweat F..k all and are just going off rumours.. every club in the OSFA is spending money on players, Uni no more then richmond or Channel.. Pull your head in a stop talking shit about things...
Well said BTS.
BTS, who are your tips for this weekend's games and how much do you think each team will win by and why??
You seem to have a fairly good understanding of old scholars football BTS.. Who is your tip for the flag and why??
Re: N.t.f.l
Penguin will improve this year with the addition of local boy Jimmy Dunham.. Jim played in North Hobart's loosing grand final in 2008 and will add some much needed class to the Penguin Line up.
Gonna say I have to agree with DHTB here. Its too early to speculate on which teams will be the benchmark this season. Practice matches are not a good guide to judging how teams are travelling. Names on a bit of paper don't mean anything until the real stuff gets underway on 10th may. Then we...
I also heard the said rumour about bielski to uni.. very good pick up if true.. also heard that uni are also close to signing another gun player to add to an already imposing team for 2010...
St Virgils do look the team to beat.. Richmond also appear to be a contender as well.. can't see any...
Re: Old Scholars
i'd say he'd be headed to the beans over OHA as he is a former student...
any other recruiting news out there??
I heard from a 'reliable' source that the rainbows have picked up a couple of 'very good' players lately... time will tell if they can go one or two steps...
Any updates on how the teams are travelling with their pre season training?? I saw that richmond are beginning soon? late start for the blues.. anyone heard of any more recruits for channel? How many ex clarence reserves players have OHA picked up?? How ar DOSA travelling?? many on the track...
University have been training for the last couple of weeks. Alex Gilmour looks to be in good shape afer an inury interrupted '09. Tommy James looks to have settled in well with his new teammates and will be a good addition to the bow's midfield. Onballed Josh Nelson looks to have spent the last...
Has anyone got any information on the latest recruits for any old scholar club?? have Dosa picked up many?? have richmond recruited?? Will the 'bows be there abouts again in 2010??
Three different people vote 1 2 3 4 5. Cameron Burgess had a lot of 5 5 5 games! Jimmy 'Franga' Dunham was a close third to the VERY vocal Charles Rae...
Maybe you should reveal your name thegame23?? i know for a fact that you are a heavy drinker of vodka oranges and when seen without your top on you made me feel sick all year.
Not sure of any gains and loses for the clubs sorry. I do know that Uni's assistant coach Matthew "Banga" Bernes was spotted in town having a coffee with the Channel Hierachy. Maybe a move down the southern outlet for the former Glenorchy spearhead might be on the cards??
Apparently Uni's back pocket rocket Jamie 'loot" Murphett is poised to turn his back on the uni footy club and resume his playing days as an elite tassie hockey player. Murphett's ability to shut down either a small or tall opposition player will be missed at the rainbows.
Another rumour out of Uni is that their highly rated midfielder Rob "Pilchard" Hill is heading down the southern outlet to play for Channel. Hill has been an important member of the uni team for the last few years but I guess the lure of big $$$ was too tempting to resist...
agreed!!! piss poor effort from the Mercury who continue to butcher coverage of local footy... when will they ever get their act together and do local footy justice!
'Behind the Scenes" can you confirm or deny that Matthew "Banga" Bernes is infact off to DOSA for the 2010 Season as their senior coach? My "very reliable" source tells me that its a done deal???
