Gonna say I have to agree with DHTB here. Its too early to speculate on which teams will be the benchmark this season. Practice matches are not a good guide to judging how teams are travelling. Names on a bit of paper don't mean anything until the real stuff gets underway on 10th may. Then we can start to see which teams will be the bechmark!:thumbsu:

Well said Skills, Let's wait and see how the first few rounds pan out. In saying that DOSA seem to be favourites for the wooden spoon after a shocking game out at Claremont on Saturday. It was boardering on disgracful from them early on.

UNI had a hit out against UNI-MOBRAY on sunday not sure of the result, but did hear that BEN BEAMS play and kick 3 or 4 goals- will try and find out details about the game.
Was at this game. Yes Beams did play. kicked 3-4 and set up a couple more. Gilmore dominant again. Reeves kicked a bag. Interesting to see Uni's last premiership coach Steffan 'The Grey Fox' Waight coaching from the side lines in Beam's absense. Highly rated football tactician and a very passionate Rainbow is Steff!! Just showing a bit more grey these days though :D:D

Uni Dominated all day, they were everywhere! Tom James gathered touches at will, Gilmore was awesome, Reeves kicked a bag, nelson had plenty of it, Robinson took a few good grabs and is moving well, Cameron Burgees went well too.
They have a very good line up this year by the looks of it, they also did well in the second game too and had a few Senior players in that game too, owens had tons of it, that bloke must be steroids he is Huge!

I'd like to be the first to congratulate the University Football Club on being the first club ever to win a premiership in March.

*golf clap*

Never looked like being beaten and have been the best team all season.

Keep talking it up boys! Will only make the end of the season more fun for everyone else.

Why wouldnt coad leave DOSA?? Rumour has it, has been training the house down and played pretty well against Channel the other week.

Interesting DHTB, I must agree there seems to be a lot of interest on this site about this club. Either a lot of support, or players pumping there own tyres, I'm not sure. However one things is for sure they are a close knit team who listen to instructions and have respect for their coach. Not sure every other team has this. Seems some teams are jealous of this as they continuely bring up $$$ that are apparently being spent. These clubs should look in their own back yard, as they to have all offered money to players and coaches over the off season. Move on from the topic and concentrate on footy because no one really gives a fuuuk. Uni played 2 bad quarters of footy last year and that cost them, I am sure they have moved on, so why dont we all. This year will see them up and about again with Richmond and St.Virgils. From the game I seen a couple of weeks ago against Brighton, Uni will be much harder at the pill and have more experience this year.

Its great to see the level of footy in the old scholars rising which will hopefully see more spectators to the games, so all these clubs who apparently say they dont spend money, have some to spend !
