I find it hard to understand why, when Collingwood has just won their qualifying final, their supporters seem to be able to think of nothing else other than how the hawks have fallen away since 2008. If the roles were reversed I know I wouldn't give a toss about how the Pies were travelling.
It was actually two extra wins, one of which was against the Cats. And 28.3 extra percentage points. By the same measure that Geelong supporters declare themselves the best team of 2008, St. Kilda were clearly the best team of 2009. Neither of these 'best' teams were able to win on Grand Final day.
Yep, he did that strut with the arms out just in front of where I was sitting and I was instantly reminded of his attitude in 08 - much nicer to see.
I agree with the other posters talking about what a raw deal he gets from the umpires - it is rarely that he is racing his opponent to the ball...
Nice work once again Crazyhawk.
Bit of an indictment the way the running time of these highlights packages decreases week by week. :( Hopefully we'll crack it for over 5 minutes this week! :p
Just ran a ladder predictor myself (bit of a long haul doing it for 18 rounds!) and came up with Hawthorn finishing 6th on 13 wins, a game clear of 7th and 2 games clear of 9th. Top 4 ended up being Brisbane, Saints, Bulldogs, and Geelong. Fremantle missed the 8 after a fade-out later in the...
If it's the incident I'm thinking of, that was Daniel Kerr punching Mitchell in the groin. He actually managed to escape suspension by arguing that he was actually trying to give Mitch a corky and missed, getting him in the groin instead. As a result the contact was downgraded from 'deliberate'...
Re: Rate My SuperCoach team IV
First year doing supercoach so I don't really have a great method worked out for this - any comments would be much appreciated:
BACK
Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waters, Gilbee, Malceski, Schoenmakers
E: Maguire, Hunt
MID
Hayes, Pendlebury, Selwood, Boyd, Harvey...
Not the most flattering series of photos. Roughead is far from the worst - Beau Dowler looks like Jeff Castle in that "world's worst dating video".

"I only need one YOU!"
Roughead>Kennedy>Hawkins
However I could see Hawkins possibly overtaking Kennedy if he fulfills his much-vaunted potential.
Each to overtake Roughead as a forward player, if he plays out the rest of his career in defence. ;)
True enough - last year you were able to sit back and watch us win a premiership, this year we were able to sit back and watch you get thrashed. Good times.
Bad luck doggies, it was a hard-fought effort. Unfortunately one team has to lose but you certainly can hold your heads up high. I know it probably doesn't make you feel any better though.
Even if the core of the argument he has presented were correct, the arguments he constructs to support it are so paper-thin and based on his own conjecture and his writing so emotive and subjective, the whole article just reads like utter tripe. True? Parts of it, possibly. Factual? Don't make...
Funny you should say that, I was sitting next to a Bombers supporter on Saturday who all the way through was calling Stanton by the nickname 'Clanger'.
Simon Taylor without a doubt for my choice.
Pretty stiff for Ryder to get weeks for that, there was absolutely nothing in it. It looked from the footage Hodge actually hit Ryder harder than what he got back (although it was a jumper punch so wasn't quite as blatant) so the difference in the respective punishments (coupled with Rance's 'no...
The "there's a conspiracy against us" mentality. The fact that after a loss there is too much casting around for excuses rather than acknowledging that we were beaten by the better side on the day.
If Geelong plus Bulldogs membership numbers exceed Hawthorn plus Richmond membership numbers next year, then I'll be VERY surprised. Tonight's crowd effort, while disappointing, is not unexpected between two sides playing the calibre of football that they currently are.
Last night's match, on...
So where were the extra 5k fans that would have filled it to capacity? One can assume there weren't hordes of Geelong supporters wandering outside the ground cursing their luck at missing out on a seat. Had the game been at the G, would it have been more than half empty?
You mean the clash between 11th and 14th tonight? Not really a game you'd expect would draw a massive crowd. Unlike a game between say, 4th and 2nd - you'd expect that to pull at least 50k. Oh wait....
