Great News for there club and the league in my oppinion
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
I only seen a few LPFL games, And to be quite honest i thought the standard of football was extremely similar to the MCDFL (I never saw Skipton play however). There entering a new league, new Territory and things just wont happen ! I would be extremely suprised if both play...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Had a look at the rooms at Brook Yesterday, Water was midway up the bar area, and the carpet in the change rooms and bar has had to be torn up unfortunately, not sure exactly how much damage was caused, time will tell ! Could be worse, was speaking to Clunes President, they...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Take your work on the Matter Huddle, but find it extremely hard to believe as the big fella has been retiring the past 3 seasons. Even last year the big Ox was tossing up whether to play or not . Be a big boost for Harcourt, who were in all sorts last year, hopefully they...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Hey Boys, Draw is up on the MCDFL website http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_page.cgi?c=1-6176-0-0-0
Brook Vs Navarre - VCFL game of the month
Interleague vs LVFL at Bendigo, Junior Interleague (14s and 16s) VS CHFL.
2011 is without doubt the most exciting season for a long...
Will lose quite a few players. Luke Treacy is Coaching Carisbrook, Lachy Woodward coaching Dunolly. The rumour mill over here is saying they are in all sorts of trouble, losing players to district league clubs. Perhaps up to 10-15 quality players !
I hope Maryborough recover though, the...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
I think we have lost sight of the argument here boys, The issue is labelling brook as a "selfish" club, which still is yet to be backed up with some actual hard evidence !! - We know our visitor rooms are a disgrace, and we are not proud of them, hopefully there will be work...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Very easy to make statements like that mate, it's another thing to back them up ! I disagree with you, as Rojer said, raising money through Grants and community funding, for lights that will serve the community of Carisbrook in so many ways, i would say thats not selfish ...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Carisbrook also had around 45 turn out for our first run. around 8 new additions, all will be very good senior players !! The new lights are fantastic, no doubt up to scratch for Night Footy !! Hopefully an exciting year at Brook. Also heard from someone that Natte had 45 at...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Im not sure mate, I wouldnt imagine the league would want to change it up that much, If the league decides to adopt the under 14 comp, i think it makes it a little hard for the 5 teams in the MCDFL (Brook,Stead,Creek,Maldon and Harcourt) who all have teams in the CDJFL to...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Dont't forget the 4ths, the new Under 14 comp could still become under 15s as the CDJFL may look to fold as Castlemaine are going full steam ahead on trying to fill under 13 and under 15 teams in the BFL. I think the Under 15 age group may perhaps be a better alternative...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Avoca is a proud club, and over the last 4 or 5 years have been a consistent perormer since transfering in 05, but will next year be a rebuilding year at the Kennel ? they have some good young kids, but if they lose the calibre of players rumoured, then it could be a long...
Re: MCDFL - Part 3
Fair to say Lexton are building nicely, but something that has failed to be mentioned is what they will lose, considering there Ballarat players, and the added travel. Players like Johnson and Stasse, are there any guarentees they will play? We are still 6 months from the...
2010, done and dusted, what a grand final and what a win by Maldon, definately deserved, led by there young Brigade in Cain,Kelly,Lockwood and Carrol.
2011 looks as if we will welcome 3 new teams (Natte,Navarre and Lexton).
What are peoples thoughts ??
Will it increase the standard of Footy...
This debate has been brought up before, by full strenght team you mean mostly a 1s team playing 2s? with no disrespect to Bushy, who from all reports are a fantastic socal club, i think what the club has done this year is concede 18 or so games in the seniors, to be a competitive 2s team. i...
1 day before the semi's and its very quiet on here, lets get some discussion going!
Weekends games:
Saturday - Under 17s - Newstead should prove to strong and Improving Trentham.
Reserves- Carisbrook and Maldon will be close all day, hard to pick a winner but back the undefeated experianced...
Fantastic Point made by the thermometer !!
The mcdfl cops some flack over the standard but if its competitive, and 1 week before finals anyone can win it, isnt that the real sign of a good league?
Have a look around locally at other leagues.
LPFL- Skipton seemingly have it in the bag...
Trentham may be going forward as a Football Club, but our Netballers were fuming when many of them were informed as they arrived at Trentham that the Netball games were called off. Comunication should of been better from both ends but not a good start for the Trentham netballers.
In regards...
No Umpires = No Football, Give them a go and respect what they are doing for the Game, it's easy to Knock them but think of the position they are in ! Like a game Of cricket, you might be dogged with an LBW that hits the top of the knee role, the next week you might smash one behind and the...
It would be the end of the world for Junior Football, Maryborough and Castlemaine would be licking there lips at the prospect of getting Junior players from Mcdfl sides, all because of travel issues !! lets hope common sense does prevail, and the CHFL do become part of the solution...
Few Brook Boys donned the Bushy Jumper tonight, nothing in it though, certain that all 3 will be at Brook this year !! I think the suprise for the night though was to see X.Long in the Maryborough Jumper, havent heard if there is anything in that ??
As for the Lpfl and Mcdfl Joining into a...
Apparently Maldon had a very tight practice match against Castlemaine yesterday, with Castlemaine missing a number of key players, Maldon outscored Castlemaine on each of the last 4 quarters (6 quarter game), as mentioned earlier Castlemaine were without alot of players, but depth of a Major...
Premiers : Carisbrook
Woodend Spoon: Creek
League Medal: J Feild
Biggest Improver: Trentham
Biggest Slider: Dunnoly
Goal Kicker:Elliot
Most Underated Player: L . Liddicoat
Toughest Player : B Kick (cops a fair bit of flack, but is hard at both man and Ball)
Who do clubs have lined up for...
Carisbrook 3 in a row, 28 point win over Newstead in the Grand Final. Nick Wright Awarded best on ground. Early stages but the Junior league will be very ordinary next year. I don't see anyone challenging Newstead for the 17s title !! I know at Carisbrook we are shaping up ok, but numbers may...
I had a dig at one of my teachers today about Bushy telling there coach of last year they were no longer required. Her reply to this was "Well i hear that one of the Ex carisbrook boys are going to be appointed". Putting 2 and 2 together i personally believe that Bazz Gorman will be coaching...
Steader - I think your predictions may be preety close, I think Newstead will be very powerfull again next year, especially if the rumours about Castlemaine players returning to the club are true ! Dunnoly will also be strong, I am led to believe, Motlop is staying, and there may be some more...
