Worked well on the MCG in 2017 GF right?
4 games in Melbourne 2017.
This thread was to discuss the fixture.
The lack of Melbourne games, year after year is my issue with it.
We get too many countryside games, every year, after year, after year....
All things being equal? Not a reality mate.
But a fair expectation, as I mentioned - How about 5 games in Melbourne? Allows for one 'sold' game.
Pick either Launceston or Ballarat...or Darwin...or Geelong. Geelong is not Melbourne.
How about even 1 year of 5 games in Melbourne?
2022 4 games in...
I expect?
Yeah, used to be 6.
Last 10 years is 5.
Now it's only 4. With 2 sold away.
What's wrong with expecting 5 when half the comp are based here?

Further removed?
I honestly wish I agreed with you.
However.. broaden your perception.
Neither kick a drop punt more than 20% of the time.
Neither choose the correct option more often than not. Both blaze away long.
Both miss seemingly simple targets.
Both have low possession numbers.
Now, I...
For those who email the club - how do I contact Silvers?
Frankly, as a Melb based member with - yet again - only 4 games in Melb, I'd like to ask him why I should bother.
Spot on.
As I said - as a Melbourne based member.
My post didn't care for the travel of players given they need to travel the day before.
They should be professional enough for that. Whatever.
But the ground/stadium is sub-standard AFL.
It's not even Melbourne. We have 2 games removed from...
:joycat::joycat: I thought that last year, and then they extended him after a loss.... I received a text message to say my card had expired, at this point I'm not giving them my new details to continue. Excuses are over. I'm sick of hearing we are young, and then the Richmond reserves beat us at...
Eeek, you think he was OK in 2023? He was a kid maybe starting to do something across half forward, sure... but then he was utter crap as soon as 2024 started after a good pre-season.
I was there utterly annoyed in Perth when he couldn't even give a 5m handball to a running team-mate prior to be...
Not for us Melbourne based members.
What you and the club don't give a shit about is we only have 4 games to attend this year. Only 4.
Used to be 6. Dropped to 5. Now only 4.
I tried the Ballarat drive last year. Why don't you check your Google and see where all the parking is. Allow a 30...
Competent? As in, we haven't been penalised for exceeding the cap limit....sure. yay!
But you are seriously happy with our current list of contracted players? The list of players that have an extra year or 2 unnecessarily? Smith, 4 years plus a trigger as a 33 year old? Brown retiring with a...
Not in this case. Jagga won't be a flight risk for this reason.
Yes, I have contacts here.
He's had a lot of contact with interstate clubs Sydney, Adelaide and West Coast. Plus Vic clubs, obviously.
He completed school last year, and focused on his football career this year knowing interstate is...
Maybe he was sacked this morning but they've been too busy to tell us?
Or more likely - they will say it's about resting senior players for such a short break and they'll be back in next week.
Was it on live?
I was hoping to sit and watch this one leading into the AFL game, but I can't find it on SANFL Now. Wondering if its one they put up there later.
I feel it's related to his injuries, weak core, groins, legs etc, now that it's finally sorted, he has a quicker step or two, plus he can withstand the tackler keep his feet and dish to an attacking option.
When he was weaker, under duress and soreness he had no agility and would collapse with...
Good question..
Someone said Boyle, but he looks to be 29.
I'm wondering if it is O. Ryan who was meant to be in 22. But 22 hasn't been seen, late switch of jumper maybe?
Surprisingly seemingly naive post and opinion from you here.
Guess you haven't watched any sanfl over the past few years where they've had this rule.
Firstly... It's not last touch. It's last disposal.
Seriously, any game needs clear rules. Not a guess about intentions from the judges. Too...
Hi Bigman... Jealous you get such good viewing, enjoy it mate!!!
Question... Hamill... I was hoping we would give him a license to run more, such as wing..
Could you keep an eye peeled on where he seems to be playing in the match sims... still back line?
Cheers.
I believe posts like this don't take into account what GC gave up to get such picks. They traded away pick 5 as one example.
This system allows other clubs the chance to obtain higher picks from clubs needing points too.
I believe all NGA, Academy players, F/S should be available for the...
This kid has been brought up by multiple posters as one to de-list and re-rookie, or he should give it away for his 'concussion' health...
But he got through this year unscathed, and I'd like to bring forth an opinion...
The 'if I was coach' opinion.
I'd give this speedster a license to run on...
If Connor O'Sullivan is available at our first pick, I'll be thrilled if we take him. I doubt he's still there though.
To all those with McAsey PTSD- get a grip, no comparison. (For the record I would've taken Serong with that pick, loved his ball use - McAsey hadn't impressed me. C O'S does.)...
A player who has served their 3 years is 'not eligible to be retained as a rookie' I believe is the wording.
I always took that as must be upgraded to primary list.
But, maybe it does mean can be re-listed - as technically they are not 'retained as a rookie' - they were released and then...
Sorry, maybe I didn't explain my query clearly enough.
Once a player has served 3 years as a Rookie (either A or B), I didn't think they could be re-rookied by that club.
Are you sure a 3 year capped out Rookie doesn't include both Cat B and Cat A rookie lists combined? Either/Or?
After 3 years on either, they must be upgraded or de-listed was my understanding.
(For those who say Rookies have had 4 years, it's a simple equation that 2020 didn't count due to...
I'll exchange your 'stupid' for risky, proactive and attacking.... There's always a risk factor in fast attacking footy, but I'd prefer that.
Do we win without attacking footy?
And in other news, you defend non-attacking non-proactive Newchurch who waits for the ball to be handed to him.
You...
So...are you saying if they miss a goal by a metre, we should just give it a goal?
You see the flaw in your statement?
Take the rules out of umpire guesswork.
