Thanks for sharing. The pattern is the same as the one on Spain's 2018 World Cup shirt.

If I was making a proper Suns jumper I reckon I'd just extend the sidepanels to go the length of the jumper, like Ajax or something. Would be a unique look. Also flatten that logo already.

I'm having a crack at designing all 18 AFL teams. Here are the ones I did for the Suns.

Home jumper, shorts and socks:
I decided to go with the lifeguard imagery that your club colours were initially chosen to represent, as lifeguards generally wear a yellow (gold) shirt with a red collar and red shorts. Lifeguards don't wear socks though and in an emergency usually have to be in the water, so decided to make the socks sky blue.


Home jumper and shorts, alternate socks:
North wear plain royal blue socks at home, so I'd have predominately yellow/gold socks against them away.


Home jumper, alternate shorts and socks:
Red shorts only would clash with Lions and Swans, so I'd have white shorts for those away games.


Clash kit:
Considering that if your club adopted a predominately yellow (gold) jumper, it would only clash with two teams; Hawks and Giants. Obviously red would still clash with the orange Giants, I decided on sky blue as the predominant design of the clash jumper.


Pre-season/training jumper:
Just one I did for fun. In my opinion pre-season jumpers should be the sort of designs kids would like, because it's pre-season.

Pretty much agreed by other podcast members.

I'm not someone who really cares.
I mean they said it was pretty 'basic'

Majority of AFL jumpers are extremely basic so not sure that is a legitimate criticism.
To be honest, I think it's the colours which make it hard to design something really appealing.

Port Adelaide changed after 13 seasons

Brisbane Bears changed after 5 seasons
West Coast changed after 8 seasons

I also prefer designs 1 and 2 but our colours include blue and both designs omit blue except for the background of the Cover-More ad

To be frank I dont think the blue fits with the red and yellow the club has. Doesnt work.

Yeah your jumper is pretty ordinary. I think it’s thst Harsh life saver red that you use, the darker reds of Melbourne and Essendon are a lot more palatable. I also think that’s why I like the blue strip more.

Even with the colours the logo could be more inspiring. An actual sun with some flames Miami Heat style could be good.

With the host of new players for 2020 it would’ve been a great time to rebrand, 2021 would be good too, but not sure if spending on marketing and branding will be cut with all the covid pressure.
