Worst 35 possession game you'll see from a player. I would love to know how many of his kicks were actually marked by his teammates, it would have been very few.

When he tried to kick a running goal from 70m out with options everywhere i50, I nearly pulled my hair out.

65.5% efficiency with 29 uncontested possessions, no team is going to worry about him because he constantly turns it over by foot.

If you're kicking it 20 times a game and trying to be creative with the ball 65 is hardly heinous.

He was good without being great, I say we should burn him at the stake though.

I feel like some people watched the game with a whip in their hand.

He was pretty good without it being amazing. Made some errors, but was among our better players. Provided more pressure than most of our players

Was very good for majority of the game. A few really costly turnovers brought his performance down.
Can understand why people on here are upset with his game given the frustration of his turnovers which were really poor and costly. But they don't outweigh the very good body of work he did for the rest of the game.
An almost game.

I feel the opposite. It's like some people look at the state sheet and think 'oh he's had 35, he must have been one of our best'.

I agree that for the first time in a while he actually provided some good pressure, but he's supposed to be our finisher - and he failed in that part of the game.

What is up with some of you Essendon supporters? It's like some of you watch a completely different game week in week out. Zaka received coaches votes and named in the top three from two of the four judges voting on the Yiooken Medal, but nah he was awful drop and trade immediately.

Who are you referring to? I can't see anyone asking to drop or trade him as a result of the Dreamtime game in which he got said votes. Most of us have been singing his praises for about four pages now...

Most let pre-conceived ideas influence their perception of a player's performance. There is also a tendency to overreact to a few skill errors (despite skill never being called into question for players like Merrett, Hurley, Watson and Heppell).

It's both a positive and a negative.

Most of us yes, but still a few who will take shots at him. Was mainly sparked by a post in the pearler thread, but there's the post a few before this and some in the autopsy thread.

Yeah have to agree with this. Guess it's just the standard fare of potting the whipping boys after a loss, but this stood out worse as Zaka was clear top three for us.

I don't know why some people have an issue with this. 35 stats does not automatically = best on ground.

He had 31 stats against West Coast, but his game was 10x better.

Against Richmond he found plenty of the ball, but was fairly wasteful when he had it.

Probably because it's sheer idiocy to try and claim he had a shit game and should be dropped. You're the one bringing possessions into the argument. But yep you're right and majority including the coaches are wrong.

Out of curiosity who were your top 5?

See my post after the game complimented Zaharakis' running power during the game - It's been regularly posted that his kicking has been disapoointng in 2017.

Chill.

I don't think anyone's saying he should be dropped.

I am simply saying, watching the game and the decisions he made/targets he missed, his game was not as good as the stats may indicate. He's an outside player who's job is to finish - and I wouldn't say he did a great job of that against Richmond.

Except there were people calling for him to be dropped, that's the point. It's not all about you champ.
