A late friend of mine was on the Hawthorn bench and told me he didn't make contact , a person i trusted a fair bit , that's why.If Derm was playing for hawthorn and did it to a swans player, your opinion would be the same?

So your stance would be different if a swan was on the receiving end. thanks.A late friend of mine was on the Hawthorn bench and told me he didn't make contact , a person i trusted a fair bit , that's why.
Nothing to do with it , his boot went to the side . If he stood on him there would've been marks . Anyhow back to listening to the cricketSo your stance would be different if a swan was on the receiving end. thanks.
He's saying Katichions..I think it's a bet!If I had a thimble-full of beer every time Simon Katich said "conditions", I'd be dead after five minutes.
All Sports radio is a niche. I like it, i listen to it and I’d rather listen to religious nuts than the crud on 3AW or Kyle & JackieO but hey, that’s just me. I’ve never encountered anyone who has been part of the survey so I really don’t understand how they do it and I have a fair level of scepticism with the figures. But at the core it is only ever going to be a niche.I don't know how anyone connected with that station could be pleased with those results, they are at best, mid-table in every category.
The program manager needs to be moved on, the schedule needs a savage review & the on-air talent needs a massive kick up the date or shown the door.

Yeah i get that, but it’s not as if they are competing directly against 3AW, 3LO or MMM, because they’re not they are aiming for that sports niche. I can’t imagine my aunt wanting to listen, that’s not her thing. It’s like anything. If you do well in a game/sport/pursuit, that thing is great. If you do poorly in the same item, it sucks
Ergo with ratings if they’re great, they mean something. If it’s crap, they are meaningless
That's what i thought as well.Comparatively, the last ratings were decent, because they usually take a dive right after the footy finishes.

You could also be RSN with next to 0 ratings and flogs like Felgate getting paid over the topYou are quite right.
However, if this station wanted to drag listeners away from some of the other stations, then they need to offer a better product.
Trying to be "niche" has serious limitations on building an audience.

I know so many that listen so i don't trust the ratingsI don't disagree with you there.
Thing is, Australia is a sports-mad country with Melbourne being the sporting capital.
There is a huge opportunity for SEN to double-down on that fact by offering a far more superior product than what they put out now that would appeal to a much wider audience.
Talking about sport is the base operandi of the station but that shouldn't mean they just coast by with poorly thought out programs with 'jobs for the boys' presenters.
To give you a guide as to where my head is at, my wife enjoys watching the footy, cricket, tennis & the Olympics but she would never ever think about listening to SEN because it is far too blokey, full of in-jokes & lacks the light-hearted humour & quality entertainment content to draw her in.
I'm near certain there is a myriad of other people (both male & female) who would listen to SEN if it was way more interesting and not just focussed on the AFL.
All it would take to get to that stage is some imagination, creativity & a liberal does of commonsense.
They could triple their ratings very quickly wth some smart & strategic tweaks.
Totally agree with this. The idea of a sports only station makes sense but the quality of some of the programs are far from qualityThere is a huge opportunity for SEN to double-down on that fact by offering a far more superior product than what they put out now that would appeal to a much wider audience.

Well they obviously don't ask people that are involved at sports clubsI can assure you, they are quite accurate.

A few people who know their European football, keep an eye on international athletics, and understand main tours cycling would help. I get so bored by seppo sports.
