I’m starting to think the ABC let Whateley go to Sen in the same way Collingwood were happy Malthouse went to Carlton , being both Sen and Carlton believing that getting an established highly payed leader would shoot them up the ladder quickly.
But now in both cases it has been the opposite
Gerard Healy and Sam McLure will be having a meltdown, the Joker is confirmed coming to Melbourne to play unvaxxed in the Australian Open Tennis

Looks like he couldn’t offload the last seven Black Caviar books as there on his home office bookshelf (3rd shelf from top , right hand side) or maybe Gerard was buying extra copies of his own book to get the sales up ?
He also has his WINX book on the top shelf
The Black Caviar painting behind him even has a 2 in it as sign of some Sen shows ratings numbers to come ?
And nine copies of some other book top shelf left hand side .

Heard Jack Heverin today on MMM and worked well with the past players , just said what he had to . Then later on Heard Hargraves for 2 mins and turned off . There is something wrong in the system . Also never complain about SEN adds MMM are disgusting
Eddie McGuire facetiously speculated a couple of years ago that Whateley would be on about 400 grand, adding something like, "well, he wouldn't have left his rock solid job at the ABC for peanuts"
I hope it pisses off Hutch-Blob that some of these guys have probably quadruple the audience they had on SENParts of Sen can be found on other stations now

Pretty sure he was the highest paid on-air ABC person at about 290K.
Was a top earners leak at some point.

Was at a sporty a few years ago and OX was the guest speaker .
He said they heard Whately was on 450k so sounds about right
And OX was on 100 from the Pokies king to speak against gambling !
To be fair they make him earn it by calling as much live sport as possible. He is probably lucky due to Covid he doesn't have to leave Melbourne as much as he might have to prior.

I remember when the Oz printed that (the story behind the leak is funny too). The top radio earners were Mottram in Sydney at early 300's, Faine in Melbourne at about 300, some TV earners were on 400...Whateley did a bit of ABC TV but can't remember him being the top earner. I think all the pious Southbank preachers would have gone on strike had a Sports bloke been top of the tree
BTW,did anyone catch the start ofyesterdays play?They had the crowd audio feed from the ground slightly ahead of Whateley's TV feed which he commentates off and the crowd reacted to a wicket (Haemeed) as Whateley was still describing the bowlers run-in, and he goes "oh..spoiler alert"...funny and well-handled by GW

irony is Gerrard is as common as they come,dont let his delivery and hype of the language fool you,its an act after all and hes paid accordingly,to act

yep,nuthin wrong with wanting a comfortable chair,style is the purchasers choice,millions of ppl would have parked in a chesterfield,most would agree theyre quality
