In the Alfred for 17 days , got a blood infection on the Murray and it shut down all my systems , if i didn't get an ambo that night i wouldn't have lasted another day, scary stuff , only got out of the Alfred today . Had some wonderful treatment from experts , just couldn't handle the food

Been there, blood infection I mean. Even as a kid, it’s not fun.

One of the funny stories at our club about Bedford was a batsman had just come to the crease and was marking his crease when Bedford (fielding in close) shouted at him "You're just a one test hack".

The bloke, with a stunned 'What The' look on his face, turned to Bedford and said "Mate. I played for Australia. What the **** have you done?"

I think that got old Bedford our "Goose of the Year" award at our club that year.

I was actually bowling to Les Joslin who played 1 test and i called him a 1 test hack and he said that's one more than you played , i was actually great friends with his brother Graeme . Heard that on Fineys show a couple of times , i gave it out copped it back and we all had a laugh , except Denis Pagin who was a prick
